It highlights what makes the city distinctive—Catalan relaxed pace, accessible coast, bike-friendly infrastructure, and neighborhood energy. Winter comfort, favorite day-to-day moments, parks and nearby nature escapes, beach preferences, local dining culture, shopping character, and recommended areas to stay or get away are all explored through practical, personal details.","d3⊥NIM NI人110 NV3NVdd3103W SIH⊥H⊥IM N31⊥IWS IZZVNO8(VIanV70 Sd33Y ⊥ldIdS人ddVH V aNV S3HOV38 NV370 'S3IMS aV370VNO73dV日.人⊥1D人W \nWORDS AND PHOTOGRAPHY:CLAUDIA BONAZZ1.ADDITIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY:ALAMY \n# How long have you lived in the city?\n\nOriginally from northern Italy,I moved to Barcelona in2017,after spending five years in Berlin. After too manygrey winters in our beloved Kreuzberg district, myhusband and Istarted growing the dream of moving to arather more Mediterranean country with our then two-year-old daughter. After athree-month Airbnb test, wedecided to make the move to Barcelona. \n# Tell us what makes your city unique\n\nWhat convinced us the most about our choice wasthe relaxed lifestyle of the Catalan city, thebeautifulcoast and the international mix of people living there. What welove about the city is also its size-you cango basically everywhere by bus,by metro or by bike.New bike lanes are poppinguphere and there to makethe traffic smoother and safer. \n# How does it feel in winter?\n\nWe moved to Barcelona in April and instantly fellinlove with the cityin springtime:hearing the parakeetsscreeching from the palms, waking upevery day witha blue skyand it wasjust such a lovely temperature. What we did not expect, though, was to startlovingthe winter even more!Winterin Barcelona is beautifullymild, the city centre is less stressfulwith fewer touristsand the beaches are clean. \n# What time of day do you most enjoy?\n\nStrolling around in the morning with ato-go cup ofcoffee is just the best. The clearlight and the breezefrom the sea make this amagicalmoment.I alsolovetheview over the city from Montjuic,a scenic woodedhill in the south west ofthe city overlooking the port, whichis especiallybeautifulat night. You can reach thetop ofthe hill by bike(even easier ifit's anelectric one)or with ascenic cable car ride.I recommend having adrinkat the La Caseta del Migdia,a lovely open-air baramong pine trees, ashort walk from the castle. \n# What's the nature like?\n\nThere are a few parks withinthe city, but the realdealis just a short drive away in either direction.Just30 minutes by car(or train)and you can find the mostbeautifulbeaches of the Costa Brava, thegolden sandybeaches of the Costa Dorada or thegreenest woodsin the Montseny,a mountain range west ofthe coastalhills north of Barcelona.Catalonian natureis amazing:there's everythingyou might want all within easy reach.》 \n# What's your favourite outdoor space?\n\nIn the week, between work and theschoolroutine,we sometimes forget where we live, but it only takes10 minutes to get to La Barceloneta, where we can siton the beach and enjoy the sound of the waves.Besidesthe beach,I also love going up the Tibidabo hill tosee the city from the top. It's such a quiet and peacefulplace, one of those hidden gems that makes my lovefor this city grow year by year. \n# Talking of beaches, which are your favourites?\n\nI particularly love Castelldefels beach, which is easilyreachable by train or a 30-minute drive south westof Barcelona. It's a long, wide beach that runs forabout three miles with generally shallow and cleanwater suitable for bathing.Garrafbeach,in avillage30 minutes'from the city,is also a trulylovely place tospend a day.The backdrop of 33 little green and whiteformer fishermen's cabins creates a special charm. \n# What about the people who live in your city?\n\nBarcelona has a cosmopolitan and happy spirit.Strolling though the various neighbourhoods(barrios)you can stumble upon improvised street parties, fancycocktail bars or authentic tapas bars.People drinkinga cold cerveza(beer)and eating tapas;music andloudness come with the whole experience. There's alot oflife on the street, too;the squares are often packedwith people-adults and kids enjoyingbeing outside. \n# Where do you gather with friends?\n\nIespecially love the neighbourhood of Gràcia.Weoften meetin one of the lovely squares, where youcan have a drinkwith friends in a terraza(terrace bar). \n# Tell us about eating in your city\n\nBarcelona's
