In 2017, when studying for ISACA CISM, I created this framework to identify and develop a process that would help me understand, follow, and increase my odds of success. I review this with each new exam, so this version (post C|CISO) is the current draft.  \nClick here to see the framework- I share it with the hope it helps you much as it does myself.  \nOVERVIEW OF C|CISO EXAM  \nC|CISO exam information is online here: [https://ciso.eccouncil.org](https://ciso.eccouncil.org)  \nI recommend getting the details from there. There is a lot of information available and is subject to updates. For me, the key takeaways were:  \n• It was available on-premises and via remote proctor. I prefer (and chose) remote proctor.  \n• 150 Questions.  \no Questions are multiple choice (choose answer A, B, C or D)  \no You can flag/review/revisit questions  \n• Test time is 2.5 Hours (1 minute per question average)  \n• 72% or higher is passing (answer 108 answers correctly and you pass)  \nSTUDY MATERIAL  \nI did not find as much study material for C|CISO as there is for other exams. I am sure more will become available as the course gets more popular. The study material I found and used include:  \n•  EC-Council CCISO On-Demand Training Package (the video course only)  \n•  CCISO Certified Chief Information Security Officer All-in-One Exam Guide  \n•  How to become a CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) (Udemy) Study material I found and did not use:  \n•  EC-Council CCISO On-Demand Training Package (anything outside the video course)  \n• Exam dump/test question websites. Stay away from these. Using them is often against exam Terms & Conditions and can disqualify you. Focus on learning the content. When you learn the content, you will pass the exam and you will acquire news skills and knowledge.  \n*NOTE  \nThe On-Demand training is not cheap and will be cost-prohibitive for a lot of people. I was not in a hurry, so I waited for a sale. The weekend of Thanksgiving 2020, EC-Council had a Black Friday sale that included the On-Demand Training, voucher, and some other goodies for $1,249 . That is what I purchased.  \nThe on-demand videos were helpful, but not necessary. Do not feel that you need them if cost is an issue. The All-In-One guide contains everything in the body of knowledge one needs and includes an online practice question test bank with 300 questions. This was 75% of my resources.  \nThe Udemy practice exams were extremely helpful. If you are not in a hurry, Wishlist them and you will get notified when they are on sale ($9.99- $12.99 each) . The How to become a CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) course provided perspective and context, but the content does not correlate to the exam.  \nMY JOURNEY  \nThe EC-Council On-Demand Training Package comes with a 1-year subscription that starts when you register and login to the account. I activated the account on March 13 and watched the videos (40 hours) between March 13th and March 28th. While the videos are very good, I needed more.  \nI purchased the CCISO All-In-0ne book on March 26th and started reading it as the videos wrapped up. I took some practice tests, and it was obvious I was not ready.  \nI spent April and beginning of May reading the All-In-One book, taking practice tests, and reviewed what I was getting wrong/had not yet learned in the book. I repeated this process until test scores were 90% or higher. It is important to not memorize the questions but understand what is being asked and that you know the correct answer.  \nOn May 1st I scheduled the exam for May 27th, giving me 3 weekends to prepare. Each weekend I took smaller practice exams within each domain, and one 150 question exam to build mental “muscle memory”.
