The book emphasizes building values by highlighting joyful discovery, interdependence, and drawing on inner potential. It also supports learning through simple concepts about observing nature outdoors and applying the lesson with hands-on seed growth activities and calendar tracking.","How I became a tree \nSusan Jacob \nEnglish Environment \nCopyright © 2020, Chetana Charitable Trust, Chennai, India [www.chetana.org.in](www.chetana.org.in) \n[http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/) \nYou may not use this work for commercial purposes. It was raining! \nIn a few days, I dug into the soil with long, brown roots and reached up with a wiggly, green \nstalk. \nEvery day the sun smiled warmlyon me . I stretched myself in joy and grew tall. \nAs the days went by, I grew taller and put out many brown branches and lots and lots of shiny green leaves . \nAnd then, one morning, I woke up to find pretty white flowers peeping between my leaves . \nAs the days went by, my flowers began to fall. \nIn their place, were small, round balls that grew bigger and rounder! \nSoon, I was full of beautiful, shiny oranges! \nBuilding Values: Many things help the little seed become a beautiful tree-the soil, the rain, the sun, but also, its spirit of joyful discovery that pushes it up. In very simple ways, this book helps children see that we all depend on others, but must also draw on ourselves to reach our potential. \nBuilding Concepts: This simple story encourages children to observe and understand life around them. Encourage children to explore the world outdoors, observing plants and trees at different stages of growth. \nApply to life: Give children an opportunity to watch growth themselves. Plant seeds in a transparent box with layers of damp cotton and tissue. Let them experience the stages of growth, watching the seed uncurl, sending out roots and little tender stalks and leaves. Charting the growth on a calendar, will help children develop their sense of time.","cbCaisqueRNVEx3F","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaisqueRNVEx3F","pdf",881719,3,11,"English","en",105,"# Story: From Seed to Tree\n## Building Values\n## Building Concepts\n## Apply to Life","[{\"question\":\"What is the main journey described in the story?\",\"answer\":\"A dropped seed sleeps underground, wakes during rain, then grows roots and a stalk, becomes a tall tree, blooms with white flowers, and eventually produces shiny oranges.\"},{\"question\":\"What values does the book focus on?\",\"answer\":\"The book highlights joyful discovery, that growth depends on others like soil, rain, and sun, and that children should also draw on themselves to reach their potential.\"},{\"question\":\"How can the lessons be applied in daily life?\",\"answer\":\"Children can watch growth by planting seeds in a transparent box with damp cotton and tissue, observing stages from roots to leaves, and charting progress on a calendar to build a sense of time.\"}]","How I became a tree - Simple Story for Children | PDF",1784286393,17,{"code":4,"msg":31,"data":32},"ok",{"site_id":24,"language":23,"slug":33,"title":13,"keywords":34,"description":14,"schema_data":35,"social_meta":86,"head_meta":88,"extra_data":90,"updated_unix":28},"how-i-became-a-tree-simple-story-for-children","",{"@graph":36,"@context":85},[37,53,68],{"@type":38,"itemListElement":39},"BreadcrumbList",[40,44,48,50],{"item":41,"name":42,"@type":43,"position":11},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",{"item":45,"name":46,"@type":43,"position":47},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/","Document",2,{"item":49,"name":12,"@type":43,"position":20},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/story-novel/",{"item":51,"name":13,"@type":43,"position":52},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/how-i-became-a-tree-simple-story-for-children/89635/",4,{"url":51,"name":13,"@type":54,"author":55,"headline":13,"publisher":57,"fileFormat":60,"inLanguage":23,"description":14,"dateModified":61,"datePublished":62,"encodingFormat":60,"isAccessibleForFree":63,"interactionStatistic":64},"DigitalDocument",{"name":9,"@type":56},"Person",{"url":41,"name":58,"@type":59},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-07-29","2026-07-17",true,{"@type":65,"interactionType":66,"userInteractionCount":20},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":67},"ViewAction",{"@type":69,"mainEntity":70},"FAQPage",[71,77,81],{"name":72,"@type":73,"acceptedAnswer":74},"What is the main journey described in the story?","Question",{"text":75,"@type":76},"A dropped seed sleeps underground, wakes during rain, then grows roots and a stalk, becomes a tall tree, blooms with white flowers, and eventually produces shiny oranges.","Answer",{"name":78,"@type":73,"acceptedAnswer":79},"What values does the book focus on?",{"text":80,"@type":76},"The book highlights joyful discovery, that growth depends on others like soil, rain, and sun, and that children should also draw on themselves to reach their potential.",{"name":82,"@type":73,"acceptedAnswer":83},"How can the lessons be applied in daily life?",{"text":84,"@type":76},"Children can watch growth by planting seeds in a transparent box with damp cotton and tissue, observing stages from roots to leaves, and charting progress on a calendar to build a sense of time.","https://schema.org",{"og:url":51,"og:type":87,"og:title":13,"og:site_name":58,"og:description":14},"article",{"robots":89,"canonical":51},"index,follow",{"doc_id":7,"site_id":24},{"code":4,"msg":5,"data":92},[93,96,100,104,109,114,119,124,129,132,136],{"id":11,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":12,"show_sort_weight":94,"slug":95},90,"story-novel",{"id":47,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":97,"show_sort_weight":98,"slug":99},"Literature",80,"literature",{"id":52,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":101,"show_sort_weight":102,"slug":103},"Exam",70,"exam",{"id":105,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":106,"show_sort_weight":107,"slug":108},5,"Comic",60,"comic",{"id":110,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":111,"show_sort_weight":112,"slug":113},6,"Technology",50,"technology",{"id":115,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":116,"show_sort_weight":117,"slug":118},7,"Healthcare",40,"healthcare",{"id":120,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":121,"show_sort_weight":122,"slug":123},8,"Research & Report",30,"research-report",{"id":125,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":126,"show_sort_weight":127,"slug":128},9,"Religion & Spirituality",20,"religion-spirituality",{"id":127,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":130,"show_sort_weight":127,"slug":131},"World Cup","world-cup",{"id":133,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":134,"show_sort_weight":133,"slug":135},10,"Lifestyle","lifestyle",{"id":137,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":138,"show_sort_weight":105,"slug":139},19,"General","general"]
