These scenarios are designed for one Keeper and one investigator, although a Keeper could adapt them for more investigators if they wish. \nOur story takes place in England, in the year of our Lord 1812, only one year into the Regency era. A young lady of good societal standing is introduced at a ball to three potential suitors: a navy captain, a clergyman, and an aristocrat, all with dark secrets. They individually invite her to events they are hosting and the investigator chooses the path she wishes to follow, with all its consequences. \nAll three scenarios stand alone, with no spoilers for the others and thus the same investigator may play all three. The order the investigator plays the scenarios in is based on the suitor(s) they choose to pursue. If a Keeper wishes to reduce the amount of preparation, they can opt to remove one or two of the suitors to force the investigator’s hand-this is left entirely to the Keeper's discretion. An optional Prologue is provided as an introduction. \nThese scenarios use the Call of Cthulhu 7th edition rules as well as the sourcebook Regency Cthulhu: Dark Designs in Jane Austen's England (Regency Cthulhu), both by Chaosium. The scenarios presented here can be used to introduce players to the Regency setting of Call of Cthulhu and, if the investigator survives, could act as the beginning of a longer campaign. \nIf the keeper is playing with the optional Reputation rules (Regency Cthulhu, page 43), suggested reputation losses and gains are included throughout the scenarios. \nThese scenarios are set in le bon ton (the ton) - the high society of the Regency era that we see so often on our screens nowadays. As a result terminology that may not be familiar to the casual reader may feature. A glossary of Regency terms is provided in Appendix A. \nA link to the digital versions of the handouts (full colour and print friendly), maps (Keeper and Investigator), character sheets, and NPC portraits are provided at the end of the book on page 79. \nScenario Summaries \n/RRP DQG /XFLGLW\\ \nA dashing but mysterious naval captain has taken Brighton by storm this Season. Where did they come from and what is the source of their fortune? And why did Lord Cosgrove drop dead as soon as he spoke against the gallant Captain? Intrigued by such an enigma, the investigator accepts an invitation to asoirée in London with the highest of high society in attendance. There she will be pitted against the Air Loom Gang and their mind-manipulating machine (the titular Air Loom). \nCurate and Curability \nThe investigator is introduced to a young clergyman who is a widower, mourning the loss of his wife. In fact the supposedly deceased wife is very much alive, if a little ghoulified due to a familial curse. Having found a way to release his wife from this fate, the good reverend has invited the investigator to join the family, as it were… \nNote and Notoriety \nThe investigator is invited to the ball of the season hosted by renowned aristocrat Sir Jasper d’Ulfrey. The lavish parties of Sir Jasper are known to all, and the guests are the envy of the ton. Little do they know that Sir Jasper has grown weary of his hedonistic existence. With the help of some of the more dubious books in his library he means to make this, his final grand ball, a night to remember as he transports the attendees to the greatest party of them all-the court of Azathoth! \n1 \nintroduCtion \nneevprese-gatatedoirsnvestigators are provided for the player to choose from. These are based on heroines from Regency literature, however no knowledge of the source material is required to play them.
