The author frames “horizon” as both the meeting line of earth and sky and the limit of human experience, using verse and playful reflection to invite readers to expand perspective. Through imagery of sun, clouds, sky, water, and city skylines, the book explores wonder and imagination about what lies horizons, because wherever you look, thesky seems to meet some part of the earth:a meadow,a mountain,a river,a sand dune,a line of houses stretching across the sky. \nWhen my son Jason Stemple began sending me photographs ofhorizons he had seen,my horizons(experiences)were stretched. \nI responded to his horizons with poetic insights of my own. They,in turn, stretched his horizons (knowledge). \nSo we covered both dictionary definitions at once without realizing it.Eventually,a book happened. \nPerhaps these photographs and poems will stretch your horizons, too, \ntill you can see the long line of sky as a curtain rising above the stage, \ninviting you to a play,a celebration,a moment of understanding.
