architectureis superior in design to the new,standards have changed in planning,inarrangements for conveniences,in provisions for ventilation and sunlight.Health,comfort,convenience and beauty in homes are each becomingmore and more an important consideration.New and better wall andfloor finishes have been manufactured that are more attractive and easierto care for.More sanitary and better plumbing equipment is on the mar-ket.Lighting fixtures and lamps have been designed that conserveeyesight and are decorative as well.Furniture and furnishings are nowconsidered from the viewpoint of comfort,use,and beauty,and we areclearing our homes of dust-collecting unattractive gimcracks that areneither useful nor ornamental.There is a certain pride too in keepingthe home grounds well planted and attractive.Interest aroused from theimprovement of a single room or even a small corner in the home is oftenresponsible for improving the entire house and grounds and sometimeseven extends into the community.  \nBetter Homes chairmen have an opportunity to create this interest inhome improvement,for there is probably no community,however wellbuilt or well established,that cannot profit by a
