Reduce the rate of opening and closing of doors.  \nFrequent opening and closing leads to waste of energy.  \n2. Do not overfill the refrigerator.  \nOverfilling the refrigerator prevents smooth circulation of cool air, even cooling throughout and consumes unnecessary power. Place food that you can see the back wall of the refrigerator.  \n3. Do not place hot food in the refrigerator.  \nPlacing hot food in the refrigerator raises the temperature, which, in turn, raises the temperature of surrounding food.  \n4. Provide sufficient spacing around the refrigerator.  \nInstalling the refrigerator with insufficient clearance between the refrigerator and surrounding objects prevents the release of heat and thus leads to waste of energy.  \n5. Replace door gaskets if damaged.  \nCool air can leak through damaged gaskets, which leads to waste of energy.
