The artwork reveals an unexpected Norse mythic symbol—Yggdrasil—combined with inscriptions written in Latin using Younger Futhark runes. As academic reasoning struggles to contain what she has found, personal meaning surges through her response. The discovery links her present research to eleventh- and twelfth-century Norman-Norse origins and hints at a deeper, hidden connection.","HER VIKING GUARDIAN \n[OceanofPDF.com](OceanofPDF.com) \nCONTENTS \nChapter 1 \nChapter 2 \nChapter 3 \nChapter 4 \nChapter 5 \nChapter 6 \nChapter 7 \nChapter 8 \nChapter 9 \nChapter 10 \nChapter 11 \nChapter 12 \nChapter 13 \nChapter 14 \nChapter 15 \nChapter 16 \nChapter 17 \nChapter 18 \nChapter 19 \nChapter 20 \nChapter 21 \nChapter 22 \nChapter 23 \nChapter 24 \nChapter 25 \nChapter 26 \nChapter 27 \nChapter 28 \nChapter 29 \nChapter 30 \nChapter 31 \nChapter 32 \nChapter 33 \nChapter 34 \nChapter 35 \nChapter 36 \nChapter 37 \nEpilogue \nAfterword \nBound for Training Series \nCorporate Correction Series \nThe Institute Series \nThe Institute: Bad Girls Series \nThe Institute: Shameful Arrangements Series \nThe Institute: Naughty Little Girls Series \nBeyond the Institute: The Future of Correction Series Bound for Service Series \nShamefully Courted Series \nGalactic Discipline Series \nVictorian Correction Series \nMore Stormy Night Books by Emily Tilton \nEmily Tilton Links \n[OceanofPDF.com](OceanofPDF.com) \nCopyright © 2026 by Stormy Night Publications and Emily Tilton \nAll rights reserved. Maybe it didn’t change everything I had thought I knew about the past, but it changed the parts that mattered most to me. The parts about the Normans in Sicily in the eleventh and twelfth centuries. \nThe tesserae beneath my brush told a story that no textbook had ever whispered, let alone proclaimed. I had been working the site, outside Palermo, for three weeks already, cataloging every detail of what the rest of the dig team had dismissed as a servants’ house. I felt certain, based on the dimensions, that it was actually the undercroft of a Norman chapel. \nI had almost given up hope when the pattern had begun to emerge. Not the interlocking geometric borders that characterized standard Sicilian-Norman work of the period, not the medallions that any first-year art history student could identify as Byzantine. Something older. Something that had no business being here at all. \nI sat back on my heels and pressed my wrist against my forehead, careful not to touch my face with the brush hand. The late afternoon light slanted \nthrough the narrow window slits of the undercroft, catching the gold leaf tesserae at an angle that made them burn like small fires set into the earth. \nMy heart was doing something undignified and unscholarly in my chest. The central design seemed unmistakable. \nNot Christ. Not the Virgin. Not any of the saints whose iconography I had spent a big part of my doctoral coursework memorizing. \nA tree. Specifically, a tree whose roots descended into three distinct realms rendered in lapis and obsidian glass, whose branches would clearly spread across the top of the composition in a pattern I had seen before, not in any Sicilian context, but in illuminated manuscripts from a monastery outside Bergen that I had studied during my undergraduate thesis year. \nYggdrasil. \nHere. Beneath a Norman chapel. In Sicily. \nI set my brush down with extreme care, because my hands had started to shake. \nThe academic part of my brain, the stubborn intellectual part tha","cbCaieJqnARRfqrC","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaieJqnARRfqrC","pdf",2361893,312,"English","en",105,"# Contents\n## Chapters 1-10\n## Chapters 11-20\n## Chapters 21-30\n## Chapters 31-37\n## Epilogue and Afterword\n## Series and author notes","[{\"question\":\"What discovery drives the story in Her Viking Guardian?\",\"answer\":\"A graduate archaeologist uncovers a mosaic under a Norman chapel undercroft that reveals the Norse world tree Yggdrasil and accompanying inscriptions.\"},{\"question\":\"Where does the main character conduct her work?\",\"answer\":\"She works on an archaeological site outside Palermo, in Sicily.\"},{\"question\":\"How do the inscriptions on the mosaic differ from typical Norman art evidence?\",\"answer\":\"The border inscription uses Latin text written in Younger Futhark runes instead of the familiar Roman capitals associated with literate Norman clerics.\"}]","Her Viking Guardian | PDF",1785658377,480,{"code":4,"msg":30,"data":31},"ok",{"site_id":23,"language":22,"slug":32,"title":13,"keywords":33,"description":14,"schema_data":34,"social_meta":85,"head_meta":87,"extra_data":89,"updated_unix":27},"her-viking-guardian","",{"@graph":35,"@context":84},[36,53,67],{"@type":37,"itemListElement":38},"BreadcrumbList",[39,43,47,50],{"item":40,"name":41,"@type":42,"position":11},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",{"item":44,"name":45,"@type":42,"position":46},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/","Document",2,{"item":48,"name":12,"@type":42,"position":49},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/story-novel/",3,{"item":51,"name":13,"@type":42,"position":52},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/her-viking-guardian/116327/",4,{"url":51,"name":13,"@type":54,"author":55,"headline":13,"publisher":57,"fileFormat":60,"inLanguage":22,"description":14,"dateModified":61,"datePublished":61,"encodingFormat":60,"isAccessibleForFree":62,"interactionStatistic":63},"DigitalDocument",{"name":9,"@type":56},"Person",{"url":40,"name":58,"@type":59},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-08-02",true,{"@type":64,"interactionType":65,"userInteractionCount":4},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":66},"ViewAction",{"@type":68,"mainEntity":69},"FAQPage",[70,76,80],{"name":71,"@type":72,"acceptedAnswer":73},"What discovery drives the story in Her Viking Guardian?","Question",{"text":74,"@type":75},"A graduate archaeologist uncovers a mosaic under a Norman chapel undercroft that reveals the Norse world tree Yggdrasil and accompanying inscriptions.","Answer",{"name":77,"@type":72,"acceptedAnswer":78},"Where does the main character conduct her work?",{"text":79,"@type":75},"She works on an archaeological site outside Palermo, in Sicily.",{"name":81,"@type":72,"acceptedAnswer":82},"How do the inscriptions on the mosaic differ from typical Norman art evidence?",{"text":83,"@type":75},"The border inscription uses Latin text written in Younger Futhark runes instead of the familiar Roman capitals associated with literate Norman clerics.","https://schema.org",{"og:url":51,"og:type":86,"og:title":13,"og:site_name":58,"og:description":14},"article",{"robots":88,"canonical":51},"index,follow",{"doc_id":7,"site_id":23},{"code":4,"msg":5,"data":91},[92,95,99,103,108,113,118,123,128,131,135],{"id":11,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":12,"show_sort_weight":93,"slug":94},90,"story-novel",{"id":46,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":96,"show_sort_weight":97,"slug":98},"Literature",80,"literature",{"id":52,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":100,"show_sort_weight":101,"slug":102},"Exam",70,"exam",{"id":104,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":105,"show_sort_weight":106,"slug":107},5,"Comic",60,"comic",{"id":109,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":110,"show_sort_weight":111,"slug":112},6,"Technology",50,"technology",{"id":114,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":115,"show_sort_weight":116,"slug":117},7,"Healthcare",40,"healthcare",{"id":119,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":120,"show_sort_weight":121,"slug":122},8,"Research & Report",30,"research-report",{"id":124,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":125,"show_sort_weight":126,"slug":127},9,"Religion & Spirituality",20,"religion-spirituality",{"id":126,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":129,"show_sort_weight":126,"slug":130},"World Cup","world-cup",{"id":132,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":133,"show_sort_weight":132,"slug":134},10,"Lifestyle","lifestyle",{"id":136,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":137,"show_sort_weight":104,"slug":138},19,"General","general"]
