The basic features are the same on both systems. \nOn Windows computers, you simply have the option of choosing more different diagram types for displaying the results and more options to customizing them to your personal needs. This is possible on Windows computers by integrating Excel diagrams, which allow such customization. \nOn a Mac, the charts are not drawn with Excel, but with another program (Python) . This program is usually already available on every Mac. \nIf you exchange PowerPoint files between Mac and Windows computer, it gets a little more exciting. In this case, read the following sections carefully. \nThe following always applies: The eduVote Add-In (version 3.38) must be installed on every computer on which you want to use eduVote in PowerPoint. \nYou created the presentation with the eduVote surveys on a Mac but now want to use it on a Windows computer \nConversion Mac → Windows \n• First open PowerPoint on the Windows computer, and then click the file to open it. \n• PowerPoint will now offer you to convert the diagrams. If this does not happen automatically, you can also click on \"Convert diagrams\" in the menu. \n• All existing Python diagrams will then be converted to Excel diagrams and can then be used as normal. \nIf you want to conduct eduVote surveys on your Windows computer more often, which were previously created on a Mac, it is also worth installing Python on the Windows computer (see below) . In this case, no conversion is required when switching from Mac. \nYou created the presentation with the eduVote surveys under Windows but now want to use it on a Mac \nConversion Windows → Mac \n• First open PowerPoint on your Mac, and then click the file to open it. \n• PowerPoint will now offer you to convert the diagrams. If this does not happen automatically, you can also click on \"Convert Diagrams\" in the menu. \n• All existing Excel charts will then be converted to Python charts and can then be used normally. \nIf you frequently create eduVote surveys on a Windows computer, which are then used on a Mac, it is also worth installing Python on the Windows computer (see below) and using Python diagrams from the start. In this case, no conversion is required when switching to the Mac. \nApart from the diagrams, the control button is also replaced when switching from Windows to Mac. Unfortunately, the grey Windows control button cannot be deleted automatically. \nInstead it is \"hidden\" on the Mac under the control button of the Mac add-in. If this new button does not appear at the correct position, you can simply delete the grey Windows button manually and move the new button to the desired position. \nYou often want to switch between Windows and Mac. \nInstall Python on a Windows computer \nIf there is a regular exchange of PowerPoint files between Mac and Windows computer, Python can be installed on the Windows computer. To do this, proceed as follows: \n• Go to [https://www.python.org/downloads](https://www.python.org/downloads) , download and install the latest version of Python. Check the box \"Add Python to PATH\" during installation. (We recommend version 3.9.4) \n• Then click the Windows icon (bottom left) on your computer, type \"cmd\", and then hit return. \n• The command prompt will open. Enter the following two commands one after the other and confirm each with return: \npython -m pip install -U pip \npython -m pip install -U matplotlib \n• Now you can close the command prompt. Python and the library \"matplotlib\" required for drawing have been installed. \nYou can now also select Python diagrams as the diagram type under Windows.","cbCaig0mo9wLzjg6","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaig0mo9wLzjg6","pdf",243153,"English","# Setup and feature overview\n## Add-in installation requirement\n# Diagram behavior on Windows vs Mac\n## Windows: Excel-based diagrams\n## Mac: Python-based diagrams\n# Exchanging files between platforms\n## Conversion Mac → Windows\n## Conversion Windows → Mac\n# Installing Python on Windows for smoother workflow\n## Download and install Python\n## Configure PATH\n## Install pip and matplotlib\n## Select Python diagrams in PowerPoint","[{\"question\":\"What must be installed on each computer to use eduVote in PowerPoint?\",\"answer\":\"The eduVote Add-In (version 3.38) must be installed on every computer where eduVote in PowerPoint will be used.\"},{\"question\":\"How are diagrams converted when moving a PowerPoint file from Mac to Windows?\",\"answer\":\"When opening the file on Windows, PowerPoint converts diagrams: existing Python diagrams become Excel diagrams, which can then be used normally.\"},{\"question\":\"What changes when switching from Windows to Mac besides diagrams?\",\"answer\":\"In addition to diagrams, the control button is replaced.
