Drawing on nutrition knowledge and lived experience, the book explains why diets often fail and reframes mind-body thinking through a kinder internal mindset. It guides readers through structured phases—softening, mindful seeing, and embodying self-compassion—supported by recipes and write-on prompts.","[OceanofPDF.com](OceanofPDF.com) \nAbout the Author \nSarah Ann Macklin is a leading nutritionist and founder of the acclaimed podcast Live Well Be Well. \nA former top international model, she spent years pursuing the ‘perfect’body until extreme burnout forced a reckoning. Over a decade ago, she walked away to study nutritional science, to understand why all the ‘right’habits had left her so unwell. \nHer years in a Harley Street practice inspired her to help an even wider audience break free from the optimization trap, and through her podcast she has interviewed some of the world’s leading health minds. \nSarah Ann has spoken to the European Parliament on dietary guidelines, emphasizing their connection to the Type 2 diabetes epidemic, and has contributed to publications like the Financial Times, Telegraph and Harper ’s Bazaar. \n[OceanofPDF.com](OceanofPDF.com) \nWRITE-ON PAGES \nAny references to ‘writing in this book’ refer to the original printed version. \nReaders should write on a separate piece of paper in these instances. \n[OceanofPDF.com](OceanofPDF.com) \nSarah Ann Macklin \nHEALTHY SHOULDN ’ T BE THIS \nHARD \nA Simple Way to Eat, Think and Feel Well \n[OceanofPDF.com](OceanofPDF.com) \nContents \nForeword by Dr Stacy Sims Introduction: A New Path to Health \nPART 1: A RECIPE FOR DISASTER \nChapter 1: The $8.5 Trillion Problem \nChapter 2: Why Diets Fail \nChapter 3: Why We’ve Been Thinking About the Mind–Body Connection All Wrong \nChapter 4: It’s Not Just What You Eat – It’s What You Think \nPART 2: THE MISSING INGREDIENT \nChapter 5: What is Self-compassion? \nChapter 6: Why We’ve Lost Our Ability to be Truly Self-compassionate Your Quick Guide to Self-compassion \nPART 3: SELF-COMPASSION INACTION \nChapter 7: Phase 1, Softening: Thinking Kindly \nChapter 8: Phase 2, Seeing: Eating Mindfully \nChapter 9: Phase 3, Shifting: Embodying Self-compassion for Life \nA Final Note: Healthy Really Shouldn’t Be This Hard \nAppendix: Recipes \nNotes \nAcknowledgements Index \n[OceanofPDF.com](OceanofPDF.com) \nFor anyone who has ever questioned their worth, I hope this reminds you that you’ve always been more than enough, you just need to see it. \nFor my parents, siblings and friends for loving me into becoming who I truly am. \n[OceanofPDF.com](OceanofPDF.com) \nFOREWORD \nby Dr Stacy Sims \n‘Hey, Steve, who is this Live Well Be Well podcaster? I did some Googlestalking and she seems to be some reformed model or something …Not really my jam.’ \nThose were the first words I spoke to my PA when I saw a podcast recording had been scheduled with Sarah. \nYou see, I’ve been in the fitness and exercise world for decades, both as a researcher and an elite athlete. I have worked with top sportswomen, actresses and the general recreational woman, who all have different goals, but I’ve found there’s one thing that unites them. They have all suffered from poor body image, based on a socio-cultural belief of what a woman should ‘look’ like, not who she should be or how she should take up space. And the current media landscape is making things worse. \nSo when I was first reading background on Sarah, I was a bit concerned that I was going to be talking to a fitspo influencer who was still bound to the socio-cultural norms, and really was just trying to hide behind ‘healthy behaviours’. But being the curious person I am, and given that Sarah was keen to talk about women’s health, I jumped into the recording session. And I am so happy that I did. I was more than 100 per cent wrong about her. Within the first few minutes of conversation, I knew we were two peas in a pod, with a shared outlook on empowering women to be healthy, to have empathy, to reframe their relationship with food, exercise and self-worth. More than that, Sarah brought her own journey and lived experiences into the conversation; one that highlighted the need to have flexibility and freedom in how we approach our lives; to give ourselves permission to just be and no","cbCaivUvnoSnVvRB","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaivUvnoSnVvRB","pdf",3710148,1,315,"English","en",105,"# Foreword\n# Introduction: A New Path to Health\n# PART 1: A RECIPE FOR DISASTER\n## Chapter 1: The $8.5 Trillion Problem\n## Chapter 2: Why Diets Fail\n## Chapter 3: Why We’ve Been Thinking About the Mind–Body Connection All Wrong\n## Chapter 4: It’s Not Just What You Eat – It’s What You Think\n# PART 2: THE MISSING INGREDIENT\n## Chapter 5: What is Self-compassion?\n## Chapter 6: Why We’ve Lost Our Ability to be Truly Self-compassionate Your Quick Guide to Self-compassion\n# PART 3: SELF-COMPASSION INACTION\n## Chapter 7: Phase 1, Softening: Thinking Kindly\n## Chapter 8: Phase 2, Seeing: Eating Mindfully\n## Chapter 9: Phase 3, Shifting: Embodying Self-compassion for Life\n# A Final Note\n# Appendix: Recipes\n# Notes\n# Acknowledgements\n# Index","[{\"question\":\"What is the book’s main premise about healthy living?\",\"answer\":\"Healthy living isn’t achieved by rigid diets or optimization.
