Explains risks of climbing, throwing fruit to the ground, hitting ripe fruit with stones or sticks, shaking trees, and how these actions bruise fruit, cause injuries, break branches, reduce yields, and make fruit rot faster and become hard to sell. Presents an alternative approach using a stick with a container to collect clean, undamaged fruit while avoiding danger to others.","Harvesting Fruit the Easy Way \nlevel: basic English \nHarvesting Fruit the Easy Way \nIt uses material from Footsteps, the literacy publication of Tearfund \nwith kind permission \nEnglish Oxfordshire , England \nCopyright © 2006, MissionAssist \n[http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) \nYou are free to make commercial use of this work. People might be hit, either by the fruit or the stone or stick. \nThe fruit will also be damaged, either by being hit or by falling on the ground. \nSome people shake the tree, especially if it is small, and sometimes branches break as a result. \nBoth ripe and unripe fruit fall to the ground and the family will quickly run out of fruit to harvest. \nAlso, when the fruit hits the ground it is bruised and damaged. The fruit rots more quickly and is hard to sell. \nHere is a method that can help to harvest clean, undamaged fruit. \nYou can use a stick with a container to harvest fruit. \nThe harvested fruit is not bruised and there are no dangers to other people.","cbCaiiaMmCNuX4Lq","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiiaMmCNuX4Lq","pdf",286765,2,1,18,"English","en",105,"# Harvesting challenges\n## Dangers for people\n## Damage to fruit and yield\n# Easy safe harvesting method\n## Using a stick and container","[{\"question\":\"Why is it difficult to harvest fruit from tall trees?\",\"answer\":\"Tall trees make it hard to reach ripe fruit, and common approaches like climbing can create unsafe situations.
