Psychologists commonly regard their discipline as the science of behavior, and the American Psychological Association has formally designated 2000 to 2010 as the“Decade of Behavior.” The pursuits of behavioral scientists range from the natural sciences to the social sciences and embrace a wide variety of objects of investigation. Some psychologists have more in common with biologists than with most other psychologists, and some have more in common with sociologists than with most of their psychological colleagues. Some psychologists are interested primarily in thebehavior of animals, some in the behavior of people, and others in the behavior of organizations. These and other dimensions of difference among psychological scientists are matched by equal if not greater heterogeneity among psychological practitioners, who currently apply a vast array of methods in many different settings to achieve highly varied purposes. \nPsychology has been rich in comprehensive encyclopedias and in handbooks devoted to ","cbCaioZtMMe8A6c8","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaioZtMMe8A6c8","pdf",3096071,688,"English","# Handbook of Psychology Preface\n## Psychology as a diverse field\n## The 12-volume handbook’s purpose and structure\n## Two unifying threads: history and research methods","[{\"question\":\"What is the Handbook of Psychology designed to accomplish?\",\"answer\":\"It is conceived as a single handbook that covers the broad scope of psychological science and practice, organizing extensive authoritative chapters across psychology’s major facets.\"},{\"question\":\"What are the two unifying threads described in the Preface?\",\"answer\":\"A common history rooted in conceptual and empirical approaches to understanding behavior, and a commitment to developing and using research methods for collecting and analyzing behavioral data.\"},{\"question\":\"Which volumes cover the main substantive areas of psychological knowledge that lead up to Volume 7?\",\"answer\":\"Volumes 3 through 7 present core substantive content across five broad areas: biological, experimental, personality and social, developmental, and educational psychology (Volume 7).\"}]","HANDBOOK of PSYCHOLOGY - Volume 7 - Educational Psychology | PDF",1789975023,1060]
