The role extends beyond the care of the sick and incorporates the advancement of wellbeing and prevention of illness. As the world redirects its global spotlight on healthcare workers in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, they became the first and the last defense of the fight against the invisible enemy.  \nNurses must empower themselves with knowledge, skills, attitude, and experience that will be able to anticipate, identity, and manage situations that place patients at risk. To achieve competencies in clinical skills, theoretical knowledge needs to be translated into practice in the clinical setting. Correspondingly, inadequate training, as well as its inconsistencies coupled with the lack of the latest evidence-based research in healthcare education, may contribute to factors of unsafe care and preventable medical errors.  \nTherefore, the arrival of this document is timely and applicable to existing clinical guidelines in any health care program.
