Results Day  \ni) Collecting Exam Results  \nCandidates must receive their examination results from their school or college (centre), usually on the published results day.  \nFor the January 2023 series, the publication of results day is from 8 .00am Thursday 9 March 2023.  \nWJEC is unable to provide or discuss results over the telephone or via email communication with candidates or parents, even if the school or college is closed. Candidates should therefore check with their school or college when and where results will be available for collection and how and with whom they can discuss any issues or concerns.  \nResults must not be divulged to others including local authorities and the media until after  \n9.30am on the Thursday.  \nii) What to expect  \nOn Results Day, candidates normally receive a result slip showing their results.  \nAt this point, results are designated as provisional; changes may be made at a later point, for example, following a Review of Marking or Moderation.  \niii) How are results displayed on a result slip?  \nResults slips will show candidate results for each qualification taken within that examination series.  \nLevel 2 Children’s Care, Play, Learning and Development: Practice and Theory  \nResults will be displayed as P (Pass) or F (Fail)  \nLevel 3 Children’s Care, Play, Learning and Development: Practice and Theory  \nResults for the qualification will be displayed as Pass (P), Merit (M), Distinction (D) and Distinction* (D*) . The attainment of candidates who do not reach the minimum standard for a pass grade will receive a U (unclassified) grade and will not receive a qualification certificate. Unit Outcomes for Units 330 and 331 are graded Pass (P), Merit (M),Distinction (D) . Distinction * is not available at unit level.  \nA Uniform Mark Scale (UMS) is used as a device for reporting, recording and aggregating candidates' unit assessment outcomes. The UMS is used so that candidates who achieve the same standard will have the same uniform mark, irrespective of when the unit was taken.  \nThe qualification grade will be based upon the candidate’s overall UMS mark.
