The only post-results service available is a review of moderation (Service 3), which looks atthe whole cohort, not at individual candidates. As such, the only opportunity for an individual candidate to query their mark, is before marks are submitted to the awarding body \nIt is therefore essential that the processes surrounding assessment uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism, and centres must ensure that students are both informed of their marks, and given the opportunity to request a review of the centre’s marking, before marks are submitted to the awarding body. \nCentre Responsibilities \nCentres must complete the following actions ahead of the published deadlines for submission of marks: \nInforming Candidates of Marks \n• Each candidate must be informed of the mark(s) awarded for their centreassessed work. \n• For GCSE Physical Education andA Level Physical Education, this includes the total marks for Component 3: Practical Performance and Component 4: Personal Exercise Programme (PEP) \n• Students must be made aware that they may request copies of relevant materials to help them decide whether to request a review of the marking to be completed by the centre before the marks are submitted to Pearson. \nTo support centres, Pearson have produced easy to engage with materials which centres can share with students and their parents, to help them to decide whether to request areview of centre marks. These can be found in the 'Resources section' on page 5 of this document. \nProviding access to materials \nOnce centre marking has been completed, upon request, centres must promptly provide candidates with copies of: \n• Their marked work \n• The relevant specification document \n• Subject-specific guidance (e.g. assessment grids, taxonomies, performance descriptors) \nFor GCSE Physical Education andA Level Physical Education, candidate marked work may include: \n• Candidate written material \n• Performance recording (under supervision) \n• Teacher commentary \nThe review process \nCandidates must be given sufficient time to review the provided materials and decide whether to request a review. \nConducting the review \nIf a review is requested, it must be undertaken by an assessor who: \n• Has appropriate subject expertise in Physical Education \n• Has had no prior involvement in the assessment of that candidate \n• Has no personal interest in the outcome \nThe reviewer is responsible for ensuring that the candidate’s mark aligns with the centres established standard. \nCommunicating the outcome \nCentres must inform candidates of the review outcome in writing. Any adjustments to marks must be finalised before the awarding body’s deadline to submit marks. \nMaintaining the integrity of assessment \nCentre assessments depend significantly on professional judgement. To uphold fairness and clarity, centres should: \n• Maintain robust internal standardisation processes \n• Clearly communicate the marking proc","cbCairhW7c3X4EXR","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCairhW7c3X4EXR","pdf",232506,"English","# Guidance for centres delivering GCSE Physical Education and/or A level Physical Education with Pearson\n## Responsibilities under JCQ Guidance\n## Centre Responsibilities\n## The review process\n## Communicating the outcome\n## Maintaining the integrity of assessment\n## Recommended Resources","[{\"question\":\"When can candidates request a review of their centre-assessed marks?\",\"answer\":\"Candidates can query their mark only before results are submitted to the awarding body.
