For each set of grade boundaries, the maximum number of available marks is also shown. \nFor individual units, maximum marks and boundaries are shown for both the raw and uniform (UMS) mark scales. Maximum marks and grade boundaries for the overall qualification (the ‘cash-in’) are only shown in UMS marks. \nInternational GCSE units and overall qualifications (cash-ins) are graded 9 to 1. \nWhere grade boundaries are greyed out for a particular unit, there are no grade boundaries available. This may be because: \n• the unit was not available in this exam session \n• no-one took the unit in this exam session \nDefinition of terms \nA grade boundary is the minimum mark at which a grade can be achieved. For example, if the grade boundary for a Grade 7 is 60 marks, then 60 is the minimum mark at which a Grade 7 can be achieved. A mark of 59 would therefore be a Grade 6. \nFor modular qualifications, assessments can be taken in various exam sessions throughout the duration of the course. \nA raw mark is the actual mark awarded by the teacher or examiner for an assessment. Raw mark scores can be downloaded by Exams Officers from Edexcel Online. \nRaw marks are converted to UMS marks for all modular qualifications. This is because raw mark grade boundaries may change from exam session to exam session to take into account variations in the difficulty of assessments. A Certifying Statement of Provisional Results (results slip) will always show the UMS mark for modular qualifications. \nYou can find out more about marks at \n[https://qualifications.pearson.com/en/support/support-topics/results](https://qualifications.pearson.com/en/support/support-topics/results) \ncertification/understanding-marks-and-grades.html \n\n| Accounting | | | | | | | | | | | | |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| Unit 1 Grade Boundaries | | Max Mark | 9 | 8 | 7 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 1 | U |\n| 4WAC1 Unit 1: Introduction to Bookkeeping and Accounting | Raw | 100 | 89 | 80 | 72 | 64 | 57 | 50 | 38 | 26 | 14 | 0 |\n| | UMS | 120 | 108 | 96 | 84 | 72 | 60 | 48 | 36 | 24 | 12 | 0 |\n| 4WAC1 Unit 1R: Introduction to Bookkeeping and Accounting | Raw | 100 | 85 | 73 | 62 | 55 | 48 | 41 | 30 | 20 | 10 | 0 |\n| | UMS | 120 | 108 | 96 | 84 | 72 | 60 | 48 | 36 | 24 | 12 | 0 |\n| Unit 2 Grade Boundaries | | Max Mark | 9 | 8 | 7 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 1 | U |\n| 4WAC2 Unit 2: Financial Statements | Raw | 50 | 44 | 40 | 37 | 33 | 29 | 26 | 19 | 13 | 7 | 0 |\n| | UMS | 60 | 54 | 48 | 42 | 36 | 30 | 24 | 18 | 12 | 6 | 0 |\n| 4WAC2 Unit 2R: Financial Statements | Raw | 50 | 46 | 42 | 39 | 36 | 33 | 31 | 22 | 14 | 6 | 0 |\n| | UMS | 60 | 54 | 48 | 42 | 36 | 30 | 24 | 18 | 12 | 6 | 0 |\n| Cash-in grade boundaries | | Max Mark | 9 | 8 | 7 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 1 | U |\n| 4XAC1 International GCSE Accounting Cash-in | UMS | 180 | 162 | 144 | 126 | 108 | 90 | 72 | 54 | 36 | 18 | 0 |\n| | | | | | | | | | | | | |\n| Biology | | | | | | | | | | | | |\n| Unit 1 Grade Boundaries | | Max Mark | 9 | 8 | 7 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 1 | U |\n| 4WBI1 Unit 1 | Raw | 90 | 73 | 63 | 54 | 47 | 41 | 35 | 28 | 22 | 16 | 0 |\n| | UMS | 120 | 108 | 96 | 84 | 72 | 60 | 48 | 36 | 24 | 12 | 0 |\n| 4WBI1 Unit 1R | Raw | 90 | 73 | 65 | 57 | 49 | 41 | 34 | 28 | 22 | 16 | 0 |\n| | UMS | 120 | 108 | 96 | 84 | 72 | 60 | 48 | 36 | 24 | 12 | 0 |\n| Unit 2 Grade Boundaries | | Max Mark | 9 | 8 | 7 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 1 | U |\n| 4WBI2 Unit 2 | Raw | 90 | 62 | 55 | 48 | 40 | 33 | 26 | 22 | 18 | 14 | 0 |\n| | UMS | 120 | 108 | 96 | 84 | 72 | 60 | 48 | 36 | 24 | 12 | 0 |\n| 4WBI2 Unit 2R | Raw | 90 | 73 | 64 | 55 | 46 | 38 | 30 | 25 | 20 | 15 | 0 |\n| | UMS | 120 | 108 | 96 | 84 | 72 | 60 | 48 | 36 | 24 | 12 | 0 |","cbCainxG7l2gDTTN","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCainxG7l2gDTTN","pdf",94107,"English","# Understanding our Edexcel International GCSE Grade Boundaries\n## Definition of terms\n## Raw marks and UMS marks\n## Grade boundary tables by subject\n### Accounting - Unit 1, Unit 2, Cash-in\n### Biology - Unit 1, Unit 2, Cash-in\n### Chemistry - Unit 1, Unit 2, Cash-in\n### Commerce - Unit 1, Unit 2","[{\"question\":\"What does a grade boundary mean in Edexcel International GCSEs?\",\"answer\":\"A grade boundary is the minimum mark needed to achieve that grade.
