For each set of grade boundaries, the maximum number of available marks is also shown. \nFor individual units, maximum marks and boundaries are shown for both the raw and uniform (UMS) mark scales. Maximum marks and grade boundaries for the overall qualification (the ‘cash-in’) are only shown in UMS marks. \nInternational GCSE units and overall qualifications (cash-ins) are graded 9 to 1. \nWhere grade boundaries are greyed out for a particular unit, there are no grade boundaries available. This may be because: \n● the unit was not available in this exam session \n● no-one took the unit in this exam session \nDefinition of terms \nA grade boundary is the minimum mark at which a grade can be achieved. For example, if the grade boundary for a Grade 7 is 60 marks, then 60 is the minimum mark at which a Grade 7 can be achieved. A mark of 59 would therefore be a Grade 6. \nFor modular qualifications, assessments can be taken in various exam sessions throughout the duration of the course. \nFor linear qualifications, all assessments must be taken in the same exam session. \nA raw mark is the actual mark awarded by the teacher or examiner for an assessment. Raw mark scores can be downloaded by Exams Officers from Edexcel Online. \nRaw marks are converted to UMS marks for all modular qualifications. This is because raw mark grade boundaries may change from exam session to exam session to take into account variations in the difficulty of assessments. A Certifying Statement of Provisional Results (results slip) will always show the UMS mark for modular qualifications. \nYou [can find out more about marks at](can find out more about marks at qualifications.pearson.com/raw-ums-marks)[ qualifications.pearson.com/raw-ums-marks](can find out more about marks at qualifications.pearson.com/raw-ums-marks) \n\n| Accounting | | | | | | | | | | | | |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| Unit 1 | | Max Mark | 9 | 8 | 7 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 1 | U |\n| 4WAC1 Unit 1: Introduction to Bookkeeping and Accounting | Raw | 100 | 85 | 79 | 73 | 65 | 58 | 51 | 40 | 29 | 18 | 0 |\n| | UMS | 120 | 108 | 96 | 84 | 72 | 60 | 48 | 36 | 24 | 12 | 0 |\n| 4WAC1 Unit 1R: Introduction to Bookkeeping and Accounting | Raw | 100 | 88 | 81 | 75 | 67 | 59 | 51 | 38 | 25 | 12 | 0 |\n| | UMS | 120 | 108 | 96 | 84 | 72 | 60 | 48 | 36 | 24 | 12 | 0 |\n| | | | | | | | | | | | | |\n| Economics | | | | | | | | | | | | |\n| Unit 1 | | Max Mark | 9 | 8 | 7 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 1 | U |\n| 4WEC1 Unit 1: Microeconomics and Business Economics | Raw | 80 | 59 | 53 | 47 | 42 | 38 | 34 | 28 | 23 | 18 | 0 |\n| | UMS | 90 | 81 | 72 | 63 | 54 | 45 | 36 | 27 | 18 | 9 | 0 |\n| 4WEC1 Unit 1R: Microeconomics and Business Economics | Raw | 80 | 56 | 49 | 42 | 39 | 37 | 35 | 29 | 23 | 18 | 0 |\n| | UMS | 90 | 81 | 72 | 63 | 54 | 45 | 36 | 27 | 18 | 9 | 0 |\n| English Language A | | | | | | | | | | | | |\n| Unit 1 | | Max Mark | 9 | 8 | 7 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 1 | U |\n| 4WEA1 Unit 1: Non-fiction Texts and Transactional Writing | Raw | 90 | 70 | 66 | 62 | 56 | 51 | 46 | 34 | 22 | 10 | 0 |\n| | UMS | 120 | 108 | 96 | 84 | 72 | 60 | 48 | 36 | 24 | 12 | 0 |\n| 4WEA1 Unit 1R: Non-fiction Texts and Transactional Writing | Raw | 90 | 71 | 66 | 61 | 56 | 51 | 47 | 34 | 22 | 10 | 0 |\n| | UMS | 120 | 108 | 96 | 84 | 72 | 60 | 48 | 36 | 24 | 12 | 0 |\n| 4WEA1 Unit 1CR: Non-fiction Texts and Transactional Writing | Raw | 90 | 71 | 66 | 61 | 56 | 51 | 47 | 34 | 22 | 10 | 0 |\n| | UMS | 120 | 108 | 96 | 84 | 72 | 60 | 48 | 36 | 24 | 12 | 0 |\n| Unit 2 | | Max Mark | 9 | 8 | 7 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 1 | U |\n| 4WEA2 Unit 2: Poetry and Prose Texts and Imaginative Writing | Raw | 60 | 42 | 39 | 36 ","cbCaiedpJ69PnEfd","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiedpJ69PnEfd","pdf",232813,"English","# Understanding our Edexcel International GCSE grade boundaries\n## Grade boundaries, marks, and grading scales (9 to 1)\n## Raw marks vs UMS marks for modular qualifications\n## Definitions of terms\n## When grade boundaries are unavailable\n# Grade boundary tables by subject and unit","[{\"question\":\"What does a grade boundary represent in this document?\",\"answer\":\"A grade boundary is the minimum mark at which a grade can be achieved.
