You can often see pictures of your relatives. You can also see photos of the houses where they lived, of their odd looking cars, and of their unusual clothes. It's fun to compare how they lived and how we live today!  \nGod has provided us a “photo album” called the Bible. He gives us wonderful “pictures” of how life used to be. The second part of this photo album is called the New Testament (or Agreement, between God and all people) . This photo album has 27 sections, and these sections can be grouped under four titles: Photos of Jesus, Photos of the Early  \nChurch, Photos of Christian Living, and Photos of the Future. Let's quickly turn through this photo album and see what we can discover.  \nThe first photo, under the title“Photos of Jesus”, comes from aman named Matthew. His photo shows Jesus on a mountain telling His followers to go out into the world and to persuade others to make Him the King of their lives. God had promised hundreds of years earlier that this king would come from David's royal family, that He would be born in Bethlehem, and that His kingdom would be above all other kingdoms and would never disappear. The next photo comes from Mark, and it shows Jesus nailed to a Roman cross and suffering terribly. God also had said hundreds of years earlier that there would be Someone who would have to shed His blood in order for people's sins to be forgiven. But Mark soon adds  \nanother photo which shows an empty tomb. Jesus came back to life, which shows everyone how strong He is! Dr. Luke then shows us another photo. Jesus is standing by a young man who isabout 20 years old and is leading him towards an older woman. The boy had just been brought back to life by Jesus, and the woman was his grieving mother (who is now smiling)! Luke wants to show that Jesus was not only a powerful Ruler but also one filled with compassion for others who were hurting. John's photo shows Jesus preparing a breakfast for His followers. This time is after He had come back to life again, and He is shown forgiving one of His followers. Now only God can forgive sins, so this is John's point: he wants all the world to know that Jesus is God's Son, who gives second chances when we mess up if weare really sorrow for what we have done. Those were some intereesting pictures! And do  \nyou know why? It's because Jesus Himself is very interesting!  \nThe next title is “Photos of the Early Church”. Pictures under this section come again from Dr. Luke. There is a photo of 3000 Christians in Jerusalem, and then another with 5000! There is a group of people in Samaria who are rejoicing. Some people from other countries are smiling because they have become followers of Jesus: an Ethiopian, a Roman soldier, even a man who watched over prisoners! All these Christians were part of groups, and they were called churches. Now it wasn't always easy living for these early Christians. One photo shows a Christian who has rocks being thrown at him, another photo shows a Christian who is being beaten, and another photo shows a Christian whois being put into a jail. Here's a photo of a group of Christians praying.  \nSometimes there were problems within the churches, but with prayer and wisdom those problems were often solved. Here are two more photos: one man is preaching before a group of people in a house, and another man is preaching before a group of people on a hilltop.
