Upon reaching their destination, the taxi driver requests payment of their fares. Cow pays her fare without any issue. Dog, not having the exact amount, pays a little extra, expecting change from the driver. However, Goat flees the scene without paying at all. Angered by Goat's actions, the driver departs without returning Dog's change. The story concludes by explaining that this incident is why, to this day, dogs tend to run towards cars, looking inside to find the driver who owes them their change.
