SIA front line licence must undertake formal training that leads to a recognised (and legally required) qualification. This document sets out how that training must be delivered and assessed. \nWe wrote this document in collaboration with various awarding organisations that offer the licence-linked qualifications. It should be read in conjunction with the ‘Specification for Learning and Qualifications’ documents available on our website. \nNote: throughout this document we refer to “awarding organisations”. When we use this phrase, we also mean awarding bodies operating in Scotland. \nOur authority to set how training is delivered and assessed \nThe Security Industry Authority was created by the Private Security Industry Act 2001. The Act applies to the whole of the UK. It gives us our legal authority and places certain duties upon us. \nThe Act says that: \n• our functions include “to set or approve standards of training”(Section 1) \n• our licensing criteria “may include such criteria as the Authority considers appropriate for securing that those persons have the training and skills necessary to engage in the conduct for which they are licensed”(Section 7) \n• we may “prescribe or impose conditions as to training”(Section 9) \nTraining centre requirements \nFacilities \n","cbCaioJtXHzFyUcF","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaioJtXHzFyUcF","pdf",580608,39,"English","# Introduction\n## Purpose of this document\n## Authority to set how training is delivered and assessed\n# Training centre requirements\n## Facilities\n## Centre insurance\n## Insurance requirements for physical intervention skills training\n# Training requirements\n# Delivery requirements\n# Annex A\n# Annex B\n# Annex C","[{\"question\":\"What is the purpose of this SIA training requirements document?\",\"answer\":\"It sets out how SIA licence-linked training must be delivered and assessed for front line licence applicants, and it must be read alongside relevant specification documents from awarding organisations.\"},{\"question\":\"What facility standards must an approved training centre meet?\",\"answer\":\"Training and assessment must occur in a suitable approved environment that is adequately equipped, conducive to learning, compliant with current health and safety requirements, and able to support practical activities.\"},{\"question\":\"What minimum insurance cover is required for an approved centre?\",\"answer\":\"An approved centre must have minimum cover including employers’ liability of £5 million, along with public liability and professional indemnity at appropriate levels.\"}]","Get Training - Requirements for awarding organisations and training centres delivering SIA licence to practice qualifications - 2021 | PDF",98]
