Our prime concern is for students to embark on courses that are appropriate for their ability. A grade 6 or 7 is considered a solid starting point to continue a subject to A level. All requests for admission to sixth form are considered on an individual basis. \nResults Day Arrangements. \nThe following details our results day and enrolment procedures. \nOn Thursday 20th August you are invited to arrive at school between 08:00am-10:00am via the main school gate. Please make your way to the annex where you will collect your results from a member of the Examinations Team, before proceeding to the main hall for your 1:1 meeting. \nAfter receipt of your results, it is essential that all students have a 1:1 meeting with a member of staff who will be able to offer support and guidance as well as confirm details of WGS6 enrolment. \nStudents have been allocated a 1:1 meeting with a named colleague as follows. This information will also be displayed in poster format in the annex/main hall on results day; please do not leave the school site until you have had your meeting with your designated adviser. \n11 LJT: EKV 11RMC: RMC 11SEW: CJW 11ME: DW 11AWB: IPT 11NM: BT \nYour 1:1 meeting will be the opportunity for you to discuss your GCSE outcomes and to confirm your A-level subject preferences. Any student wishing to change A level options will be able to do so on Wednesday 2nd September with Mrs Rogers, option blocks and class sizes permitting. \nAny students unsure of their post-16 options should see Mrs Wilson for additional support and advice. \nAny student or parent with additional questions or concerns will be able to speak to a member of the WGS6 team following their 1:1 discussion. \nParents/Carers are welcome to accompany students to this event but are politely requested to park off site and walk in where possible as there will be limited parking on site. \nPlease note, if your results do not fulfil our admissions criteria, we will discuss the details of this on results day, but it may be that we are unable to offer you a place or you may be placed on a reserve list pending further consultation. \nIf you are unable to collect your examination results in person, please ensure you have completed the Results Collection Proforma which is available from Mr C Hughes; this is also available on our school website: here. If you are unavailable on results day, and therefore unable to attend a 1:1 meeting, it is important that you contact school / Mrs Ahern via email to discuss your situation. \nIf you require access to scripts to inform requests for remarks, this must be addressed urgently and by Tuesday 25th August at the latest. All requests have a cost implication, and fees must be paid by the student by the deadline provided by Mr C Hughes. \nAppeals regarding grades and requests for re-marks will need to be discussed with Mr C Hughes as soon as possible, ideally on results day and no later than Thursday 3rd September. \nFor those successful in gaining a place at WGSB6: \nOn Wednesday 2nd September 2026, we will be holding an induction event ‘Preparing for WGS6’which will provide an opportunity to find out more about sixth form life as well as offering you guidance on making the transition from GCSE to A-level study. \nOn this day, students are expected to arrive via the atrium or student entrance for 8:55am and make their way to the WGS6 area opposite the ","cbCail3wvLnCR5Lh","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCail3wvLnCR5Lh","pdf",252299,"English","# Results Day arrangements\n## Collection times and 1:1 meetings\n## Admission criteria and guidance","[{\"question\":\"When and where should students arrive to collect GCSE results?\",\"answer\":\"On Thursday 20th August, students should arrive between 08:00am and 10:00am via the main school gate, then go to the annex to collect results before the 1:1 meeting in the main hall.\"},{\"question\":\"What happens after students receive their GCSE results?\",\"answer\":\"All students must have a 1:1 meeting with a named staff adviser to receive support and guidance, confirm details of WGS6 enrolment, and discuss GCSE outcomes and A-level subject preferences.\"},{\"question\":\"How can students change A-level options?\",\"answer\":\"Students wishing to change A-level options can do so on Wednesday 2nd September with Mrs Rogers, subject to option blocks and class sizes.\"}]","GCSE Results Day - Wednesday 2nd September 2026 - Enrolment in WGS6 | PDF"]
