Themes include stolen identity through face-hiding and image manipulation, secret identity via layered obstructions that reveal a hidden layer, and hidden identity through make-up, body image, and dramatic composition. The portfolio also reflects on personal identity by photographing objects, personal spaces, and self-representation, using visual research, snapshots, and editing ideas to develop an emotional connection between images and how people feel.","GCSE Photography \n“Identity Project” 2014-2015 \n“stolen identity” \nCould I look at identity theft? Online hacking and identity theft \n-lots of films use this visual theme or use special effects to change peoples image \n• film/theatre make up process \n“Identity” \n“Hidden identity” \nCould I look at the different ways that people hide their face? \n• Different cultures that use the head scarf/hijab to hide and conceal their face, how does it make them feel? How does it make others feel? \n• People who aren’t happy in their ‘own skin’ – use heavy make up or Botox to change how they look, trying to create a new identity for the outside world(does it change their emotions inside or does it \nmask the problem? \n“The individual characteristics held by one person. And a sense of self” \n“secret identity” \nCould I explore comic book \n• Political or antisocial behaviour \n– look at hoodies /riots and the impact on society. Could also explore graffiti, vandalism and antisocial behaviour. \nheroes? Undercover secret agents – people who need to hide their true self and their identity. \n• Covert officers. SAS – people who adopt a whole new identity. \n• Look at clothing and masks. \n“My identity” \nCould I make my project about me? Could I look at the things that are important to me – objects etc? \n• Events and images from my life – what makes me‘me’. \n• Pictures of me – self portraits. \n“Visual Research” \nI have explored the different possible starting points from my mind map to visually show what each theme. I have used different images sourced [from www.pinterest.co m .This will](from www.pinterest.co m .This will) help me to decide which area to focus on and develop further. \n“Stolen Identity” \nLooking at hiding faces, covering them with other things to change the way they look. \nDistorting the images to change \nthem, taking away pieces or \nobscuring them to change the \nidentity of the person. Merging \nimages together to create a new \n‘person’. \n“Secret Identity” \nLooking at the way images and facial features are hidden to keep identity a secret. Different ways of covering faces or just a persons eyes to keep their ‘true self’ secret. \nLooking at different ways to show the secret behind themask – revealing the secret layer to show what is underneath \n– superheroes unveiling their true self? \nUsing different techniques to obscure the image – different layers of photo editing after the photos have been taken as well as make up/clothing etc. during the photoshoot. \nUsing different clothing and compositions can have a really dramatic effect –having faces concealed in whatever form does cause an emotional reaction – could I use written words layered over images to show how the images make people feel? \n“Hidden Identity” \nExploring make up and body image doesn’t have to use lots of make up during the photo shoot – it could be used afterwards? \nLooking at objects and how they relate to the person their identity. \nI could look at how places have an impact on a persons identity– where they feel ‘at home’ \nMerging images together to show the person being apart of their environment \n“My Identity” \n“Reflecting on my Research” \nAfter looking at the different elements from my mind map in visual form it has helped me to decide which direction I would like to explore further. \nI am really interested in looking at an individual \nperson – everything about them and what makes them unique.. What forms their identity. \nlooking at the different visual images for my research has given me ideas for developing the idea further – I could also look at the person in depth, what they want to become, how they would like to be seen by others as well as the objects and material objects that reflect their identity. \nI want to be able to take lots of different photographs including portraits, for this reason I will use other people in my family for this project rather than just myself. \n“looking at objects” \nThe following image","cbCaiuJJAq92sObA","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiuJJAq92sObA","pdf",15727579,1,71,"English","en",105,"# Identity Project (2014-2015)\n## Identity themes: stolen, secret, hidden\n## Visual research and development plans\n## Objects and personal space research","[{\"question\":\"What are the main identity themes explored in the project?\",\"answer\":\"The project focuses on stolen identity, secret identity, hidden identity, and “my identity.” Each theme is developed through different ways of concealing, altering, or revealing images and facial features.\"},{\"question\":\"How does the project approach “stolen identity” visually?\",\"answer\":\"It examines hiding faces and changing appearance using distortion, removing or obscuring parts of an image, and merging images to form a new person.\"},{\"question\":\"What is the role of objects in “my identity” research?\",\"answer\":\"Objects and personal possessions are photographed to show how family members’ spaces and possessions reflect their identity, providing clues about personality and an idea of inner “story” beyond appearances.\"}]","GCSE Photography -
