This means that candidates must take all the components within the specification within one examination series. \nThe grade boundaries for each qualification are shown below. Component marks at key grade boundaries are aggregated to create a total mark, which is used to calculate the overall qualification grade for each candidate. Candidates will receive the total aggregated mark and the overall grade on their results slips. \nThe grade boundaries for each component are also shown below. The highlighted grade boundaries were set using professional judgement. \nComponent boundaries are 'notional' and intended only as a guide to aid centres with their analysis, and are not official grades. Please note that notional component grade boundaries which have been derived arithmetically may not add up to the overall qualification-level boundary where component marks have been scaled to produce the qualification-level mark. \n\n| Entry Code | Subject/Unit | Maximum\u003Cbr>Mark | Weighting\u003Cbr>Factor | A* | A | B | C | D | E | F | G |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| 3700QS | ENGLISH LANGUAGE | 400 | | 318 | 282 | 248 | 214 | 173 | 132 | 92 | 52 |\n| 3700U1 | Unit 1-Oracy | 80 | 1.0000 | 72 | 64 | 56 | 48 | 40 | 32 | 24 | 16 |\n| 3700U2 | Unit 2-Reading and Writing: Description, Narration and Exposition | 80 | 2.0000 | 62 | 56 | 49 | 43 | 35 | 27 | 20 | 13 |\n| 3700U3 | Unit 3-Reading and Writing: Argumentation, Persuasion and Instructional | 80 | 2.0000 | 61 | 53 | 47 | 40 | 31 | 23 | 14 | 5 |\n| 3300PF | MATHEMATICS (FOUNDATION) | 130 | | | | | | 67 | 50 | 33 | 16 |\n| 3300PN | MATHEMATICS (INTERMEDIATE) | 160 | | | | 102 | 69 | 44 | 22 | | |\n| 3300PH | MATHEMATICS (HIGHER) | 160 | | 110 | 83 | 56 | 29 | | | | |\n| 3300U1 | Unit 1 (Foundation) -Non-calculator | 65 | 1.0000 | | | | | 35 | 25 | 16 | 7 |\n| 3300U2 | Unit 2 (Foundation) - Calculator allowed | 65 | 1.0000 | | | | | 32 | 25 | 17 | 9 |\n| 3300U3 | Unit 1 (Intermediate) -Non-calculator | 80 | 1.0000 | | | 53 | 37 | 24 | 12 | | |\n| 3300U4 | Unit 2 (Intermediate) - Calculator allowed | 80 | 1.0000 | | | 49 | 32 | 20 | 10 | | |\n| 3300U5 | Unit 1 (Higher) -Non-calculator | 80 | 1.0000 | 53 | 40 | 27 | 14 | | | | |\n| 3300U6 | Unit 2 (Higher) - Calculator allowed | 80 | 1.0000 | 57 | 43 | 29 | 15 | | | | |\n| 3310PF | MATHEMATICS-NUMERACY (FOUNDATION) | 130 | | | | | | 74 | 57 | 41 | 25 |\n| 3310PN | MATHEMATICS-NUMERACY (INTERMEDIATE) | 160 | | | | 101 | 66 | 48 | 24 | | |\n| 3310PH | MATHEMATICS-NUMERACY (HIGHER) | 160 | | 112 | 89 | 59 | 30 | | | | |\n| 3310U1 | Unit 1 (Foundation) -Non-calculator | 65 | 1.0000 | | | | | 38 | 29 | 20 | 11 |\n| 3310U2 | Unit 2 (Foundation) - Calculator allowed | 65 | 1.0000 | | | | | 36 | 28 | 21 | 14 |\n| 3310U3 | Unit 1 (Intermediate) -Non-calculator | 80 | 1.0000 | | | 50 | 32 | 24 | 12 | | |\n| 3310U4 | Unit 2 (Intermediate) - Calculator allowed | 80 | 1.0000 | | | 51 | 34 | 24 | 12 | | |\n| 3310U5 | Unit 1 (Higher) -Non-calculator | 80 | 1.0000 | 52 | 42 | 28 | 14 | | | | |\n| 3310U6 | Unit 2 (Higher) - Calculator allowed | 80 | 1.0000 | 60 | 47 | 31 | 16 | | | | |\n| 3000CS | WELSH LANGUAGE | 300 | | 254 | 219 | 181 | 144 | 121 | 98 | 76 | 54 |\n| 3000N1 | Unit 1-Oracy | 80 | 1.1250 | 71 | 63 | 50 | 40 | 33 | 26 | 18 | 11 |\n| 3000N2 | Unit 2-Reading and Writing: Description, Narration and Exposition | 70 | 1.5000 | 58 | 50 | 42 | 33 | 29 | 24 | 20 | 16 |\n| 3000N3 | Unit 3-Reading and Writing: Argumentation, Persuasion and Instructional | 70 | 1.5000 | 58 | 49 | 41 | 33 | 27 | 22 | 17 | 12 |\n\nWJEC (Research) WJEC GCSE (Linear) Grade Points November 2025 WJEC GCSE November 2025 Page 1 of 1","cbCaijDDNolyBe8b","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaijDDNolyBe8b","pdf",123136,"English","# Grade calculation framework\n## Linear qualification requirement\n## Aggregation of component marks and overall grades\n# Grade boundaries\n## Qualification-level boundaries\n## Component-level notional boundaries","[{\"question\":\"What does “linear” mean for reformed GCSE qualifications in Wales for November 2025?\",\"answer\":\"Candidates must take all components within the specification within one examination series, so grading reflects the complete set of components together.\"},{\"question\":\"How are overall qualification grades calculated from component marks?\",\"answer\":\"Component marks at key grade boundaries are aggregated to create a total mark, which is then used to calculate the overall qualification grade shown on results slips.\"},{\"question\":\"Are component grade boundaries official grades?\",\"answer\":\"No. Component boundaries are notional and serve as a guide for centres, and notional component boundaries derived arithmetically may not total the qualification-level boundary due to scaling.\"}]","GCSE Grade Points (Non Uniform Mark) - November 2025 - Grade Boundaries and Component Aggregation | PDF"]
