Art is a subject full of discovery which is rewarding and endlessly creative.  \nWhat will you be learning?  \nCOURSEWORK PORTFOLIO (60%)  \nOver the two years, you will develop a portfolio that showcases your creativity and confidence across a wide range of artistic approaches. Your work will include:  \n• Drawing and painting in different styles  \n• Printmaking and mixed-media exploration  \n• Photography and digital image-making  \n• Sculpture and 3D construction  \n• Experimental processes using unconventional materials  \n• Artist research to build knowledge and inspiration  \nYou’ll begin with skill-building workshops that help you gain experience with a huge range of materials before moving into projects that take your ideas further. You’ll work in sketchbooks filled with drawings, photographs, experiments, colour tests and creative development, leading towards final outcomes that you design and produce yourself.  \nYour portfolio will be personal, expressive and individual, a visual record of your journey as an artist.  \nEXTERNALLY SET TASK (40%)  \nIn Year 11, AQA will provide a selection of exciting themes to choose from. You’ll spend around 12 weeks developing a sketchbook of ideas, studies, explorations and artist investigations. This culminatesin a 10-hour practical exam, where you create a final piece that brings all your planning and creativity together.  \nWhat are the lessons like?  \nArt lessons are energetic, creative and highly practical.
