This is consistent with the qualification regulators’ document Exam system contingency plan: England, Wales and Northern Ireland-[https://www.gov.uk/government/](https://www.gov.uk/government/)[ ](https://www.gov.uk/government/)[publications/exam-system-contingency-plan-england-](publications/exam-system-contingency-plan-england-)[wales-and-northern-ireland](wales-and-northern-ireland) \nThe designation of a ‘contingency day’ within the common examination timetable is in the event of national or significant local disruption to examinations in the United Kingdom. It is part ofthe awarding bodies’ standard contingency planning for examinations. Centres must therefore remind candidates that they must remain available until Wednesday 24 June 2026 should an awarding body need to invoke its contingency plan. \nStarting times of examinations \nThe published starting time of all examinations is either 9.00 am or 1.30 pm. Each examination must be taken on the day and at the time shown on the timetable. \nCentres may change the starting time of an examination within the scheduled morning or afternoon session without notifying OCR, but candidates must start morning examinations no earlier than 8.30 am and by 9.30 am and afternoon examinations no earlier than 1.00 pm and by 2.00 pm. \nIf candidates are taking two or more examinationsin a session and the total time is three hours or less, centres may decide the order in which to hold them. Centres may also give candidates a supervised break of no more than twenty minutes between papers within a session. This must be conducted within the examination room, under formal examination conditions at all times. This does not apply to candidates with approved supervised rest breaks. \nLeaving the examination \nCandidates must remain under supervision until 10.00 am for morning examinations and until 2.30 pm for afternoon examinations. For examinations of less than one hour’s duration, candidates must be supervised until the published finishing time of the examination. \nTimetable deviations \nIf you need to arrange overnight supervision, the forms do not need to be returned to OCR but must be completed and held in your centre records. When a change is made to the published starting time of an examination, it is the responsibility of the centre to inform al l candidates affected by the alteration. \nExams Timetable Tool \nThe exams timetable tool contains dates for OCR, AQA, Pearson and WJEC examinations. It is available via The Exams Office website, [www.theexamsoffice.org](www.theexamsoffice.org)and can be used to search, collate, export and print timetable information. Please note that you will need to be a member to access the information. Enquiries about membership for this site must be directed to The Exams Office directly and not the individual awarding bodies. \nKey Dates \nKey dates including dates for the release of results and any components taken between a range of dates will be shown on our Key Dates document: [https://ocr.org](https://ocr.org). uk/administration/key-dates-and-timetables/ \nCentres must ascertain the dates for any papers not shown on the OCR timetable from Centre Data and Meetings: \nTelephone: 01223 553998 \nEmail: [timetable@ocr.org.uk](timetable@ocr.org.uk) \nJUNE 2026 \nGCSE and Cambridge Nationals \nFinal Examination Timetable, June 2026 \nOxford Cambridge and RSA \nTimetables by qualification \nGCSE \nAncient History Biology A \nBiology B Business Chemistry A \nChemistry B \nCitizenshi","cbCaioZ9gqrMg1C0","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaioZ9gqrMg1C0","pdf",723228,15,"English","# Contingency days\n## Starting times of examinations\n## Leaving the examination\n## Timetable deviations\n## Exams Timetable Tool\n## Key Dates\n# Timetables by qualification\n## GCSE\n## Cambridge Nationals","[{\"question\":\"When are the contingency sessions and contingency day for June 2026 exams?\",\"answer\":\"The morning and afternoon sessions of Wednesday 24 June 2026 are designated as contingency sessions.
