\nshows the significance of \nangles when taking photos. \nThis tricycle looks old andworn down yet the low \nangle composition makes it \nlook important.Giving a \nviewpoint that is lower \nthan eye level gives a new \nperspective to the worndown tricycle that would \nnot have been seen at a \ndifferent angle. \nEggleston displays a simple object in an unusual way using this lower angle. This is a simple technique but ithas a huge impact on the image crcated. The background and the tricycle itself could be found anywhere. However,Eggleston chose the best angle to make this image more than just a tricycle. \nThis shows that simple subjects in photography can still have a story behind it.It makes the viewer questionwhy the tricycle is there and who owns it. \nThomas Ruff did a photographic series ofpassport style photos. These images were madeto be printed large and displayed in anexhibition. The models in each of his photoswere not well known and were not names duringthis exhibition. However each image has pointsof interest. For example in the image above herfringe is irregularly cut. \nThis photo shows simplicity in photography asthe lighting is flat and there is no bright coloursin the photo. It looks as though it would be usedfor official use.As well as the look of the photobeing simple because we have no information oneach person Ruff photographed there is no storybehind these portraits. This makes these photosonly have one key feature and that is eachperson's appearance. \nBelow shows Henri Matisse's Blue Nudes. These are shapescut out of blue paper to create an abstract image of thehuman body.Although these images look simple, one ofthem took Matisse two weeks of cutting and arranging until \nThese images show simplicity through only using one artform. They have litle details as they show no shading orshadows. This is because he only used paper to create eachimage. Also Matisse only used blue in each photo instead ofadding multiple different colours and adding more depth to \nEllsworth Kelly said “I feel that thefreedom of colour in space is very muchwhat I've always been involved in.”Thisquote describes Kelly's work as hepainted simple and abstract pieces. \nThe image by Kelly to the left is calledColors for a Large Wall. This was thelargest painting that he made and itfeatures multiple different colouredsquares that were each paintedseparately.Although this painting issimple with little details it stillhas a goodcomposition that makes it moreinteresting.Kelly got the inspiration forthis piece from producing collage usingFrench craft paper and randomly placingeach square. \nSimple or Complex \nGlass artist Dale Chihuly is best known for his large-scale sculptures.Hisinterest in architecture, interior design and the way from interacts with lightand space helps to create his installations. Each piece is created to fit theenvironment they are located.Chihuly's work is placed in public spaces, museums and botanical gardens around the world. \nDale Chihuly's work is seen as complex because of the large colourful designshe creates. He pushes the boundaries with blowing glass until it's impossibly \nthin.He then combines hundreds of pieces to create his final piece.Blowing \nglass takes a lot of skill as it can easily go wrong. \nThe piece to the righ is at Kew Gardens in London.Chihuly has 32 pieces ofhis artwork displayed here across different locations, both in and outdoors. \nHis wife sees this Reflection on Nature as a way of bringing art lovers to \ngardens and garden lovers to
