An easier way to explain it can be calling it a ‘Retesting Candle’. There is a reason as to why the Retesting Candle closes bullish and it is because the Bulls are trying to take price back to the broken level, but when price refuses this level and closes away from it, we end up with a bullish candle in the middle of a downtrend. \nRules to trading an FTR \n1) Follow the trend (at least three ‘vector’ candles prior to the FTR candle. \n2) FTR candle MUST close in opposing direction in trend. \n3) IMMEDIATELY after the FTR candle is formed, we MUST see an Engulfing candle. \nNot 2 or 3 candles after the FTR IMMEDIATELY AFTER. \n4) Entry-Enter on the close of the Engulfing candle. \n5) Stop Loss -Your stop loss can either be 10 pips or right above the wick of the Retest Candle. \n6) Take Profit-Your take profit level will be the next visible key level/zone. \n*FTR trades are typically 1:1 RR \nWhat is an FTB? \nFTB stands for ‘First Time Back’ is quite simply the first time price comes back to an FTR Zone. \n*Still learning the reasoning as the WHY price reverse so hard from these points but my thinking of it is either a liquidity grab/stop hunt. But forget as to why, let’s just learn to \ntrade from them! \nHow to trade an FTB \n1) Stick with the trend. \n2) Make sure there is a CONFIRMED and VALID FTR Zone. (Stick to the rules!) \n3) Price must move at least 15 pips away from the FTR zone before pulling back to the zone. (If there is consolidation before the pullback, trade is invalid) \n4) Now we are looking for the first candle to CLOSE within the FTR Zone after the pullback. \n5) Now the following candle MUST close OUTSIDE of the FTR Zone for a valid FTRFTB setup. \n6) Entry-Your entry will be the close of the candle that closes OUTSIDE of there zone. \n7) Stop Loss-Your stop loss will either be the wick of the FTR candle or 10 pips. \n8) Take Profit -Your take profit level will be the zone at which price reversed from before its FTB.
