The new measures introduced through the Order will require movements of sweet chestnut planting material, including seeds, into and within England or Scotland and from England or Scotland to other Member States to be accompanied by certain documentation confirming that the material has been grown in a place of production in a country where Cryphonectria parasiticais known not to occur, or an area designated by plant health authorities as free from the disease . If you plan to collect Sweet chestnut seed, then please be aware that we will arrange to inspect your collection. The current regime and proposed new regulation aim to provide growers/end-users (across a range of sectors including farming, horticulture and forestry) with assurance on the productivity, health and quality of PRM, either in the form of seeds or other types of propagation material marketed for the production and/or reproduction of plants and trees. Rules to mitigate biosecurity risks from import and movement of PRM are in EU plant health legislation. \nIf you would like to view the proposed new regulation then click on this \nlink: [http://ec.europa.eu/dgs/health_con](http://ec.europa.eu/dgs/health_con)[sumer/pressroom/docs/proposal_aphp_e](sumer/pressroom/docs/proposal_aphp_e)[n.pdf](n.pdf) \nThe Forestry Commission regularly meet with representatives from the industry to canvass their views, we are also keen to hear any views that you may have – please contact Amanda Campbell. \nAspen \nCompleting and submitting Master certificate applications each year when \n1 | FRM Newsletter 3 | Amanda Campbell | 29/10/2013 \nFRM NEWSLETTER – ISSUE 3 – October 2013 \ncuttings are taken can be an onerous task so we have prepared spreadsheet versions so that multiple cuttings can be captured on the same sheet. Hopefully this will make the task quicker and easier. These have been emailed to all of our regular registered suppliers who deal with Aspen production. These forms will also be available from our web[page ](page www.forestry.gov.uk/frm in)[www.forestry.gov.uk/frm](page www.forestry.gov.uk/frm in)[ in](page www.forestry.gov.uk/frm in) the‘Forms’ section. \nLicences to Market \nLicences to Market are issued to cover marketing of species that do not fully comply with the FRM Regulations. This primarily affects the registration of aspen clones. Licences were initially issued covering a 5 year period and some have now expired. These will be re-issued if requested and will no longer be time bound. Please contact Amanda Campbell to arrange this. \nNursery Inspections \nInspections for 2012-13 are complete. Twenty-five nurseries were visited by our Inspectors. Notably, the same issues keep surfacing and I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of your obligations to comply with the Regulations or risk being removed from our Suppliers Register for noncompliance. \nWhat you must do as a Registered Supplier; \n• Notify the FC 14 days prior to a seed collection being made. \n• Apply to the FC for ","cbCaiqTA0RZgLZda","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiqTA0RZgLZda","pdf",62002,"English","# Forest Reproductive Material Newsletter - Issue 3\n## Sweet chestnut\n## Review of EU Legislation-Update\n## Aspen - Master certificate applications\n## Licences to Market\n## Nursery Inspections\n## What you must do as a Registered Supplier\n## Nursery Inspections 2013-14\n## Changes to the appearance of Master Certificates\n## Biosecurity\n## Why is biosecurity important now","[{\"question\":\"What new measures apply to sweet chestnut planting material from 11 November 2013?\",\"answer\":\"Movements of sweet chestnut planting material between England/Scotland and within those nations, or to other Member States, must be accompanied by documentation confirming the material was grown in an area where Cryphonectria parasitica is not known to occur, or in a plant health authority-designated disease-free area.\"},{\"question\":\"How can suppliers reduce the burden of completing Master certificate applications for aspen cuttings?\",\"answer\":\"The newsletter states that spreadsheet versions have been prepared so multiple cuttings can be captured on the same sheet, and that these forms were emailed to regular registered suppliers handling aspen production.\"},{\"question\":\"What obligations must a registered supplier follow after nursery inspections?\",\"answer\":\"Registered suppliers must notify the Forestry Commission 14 days before seed collection, apply for a Master Certificate after collection, provide a Suppliers Document when passing material to customers, notify FC if exporting material, and retain required copies for at least 5 years (originals for Master certificates).\"}]","FRM Reproductive Material Newsletter - Issue 3 - October 2013 | PDF"]
