As they drive toward Cathedral City Park and their forthcoming permanent home at Moonstone Bay, Poet wrestles with nostalgia and uncertainty about leaving life on the road. Kade balances concern and optimism, discussing how the move may change their routines and the darker moods tied to regional gloom, while teasing forthcoming supernatural trouble.","Copyright © 2026 by Amanda M. This was the last time we would perform in Portland, at least as a group. Heck, it was the last time we would be hitting the Pacific coast before circling around for the final time. Then it would be several stops on the way back, culminating with one final stop in Michigan. \nMystic Caravan Circus wasn’t coming to an end, but we were moving to a permanent location. \nI, Poet Parker, would be in charge. Sure, technically I was incharge already. Max Anderson started the circus, and it was his name on all the paperwork we still had to file. But all of that would change in about two months’ time. \nHow had we gotten here? \nMy mood was as gloomy as the weather. It wasn’t raining, which was good because we would have to unpack as soon as we got to Cathedral City Park, which was located on the Willamette River. It was one of my favorite places we’d stayed over the years thanks to the St. John’s Bridge stretching overhead, which had a weirdly gothic feel. \nI didn’t mean to be a downer. I really was looking forward to moving to a permanent location. And who wouldn’t be excited to move to a tropical island where paranormals didn’t have to hide who they were? I was looking forward to it and yet a big ball of worry had taken up residence in my stomach. \n“Are you going to wallow the rest of the drive?” a voice asked, jolting me out of my thoughts. \nI darted a look toward my husband Kade Denton, who was following the GPS to our location. He managed a small smile but there was genuine worry in his eyes. \n“What?” I pasted a fake smile on my face.“What did you say?”I’d heard him but was hoping he would let it go. I should have known better. Kade never let anything go. \n“You’re upset about something,” he replied, checking the screen in the dash again. Portland’s geography could be confusing and he hated heavy traffic. That’s what we were getting into now, which sucked because we weren’t far from our final destination. \n“I’m not upset.” I shook my head, as if that would prove it. \n“Poet.” \nOn a sigh, I closed my eyes. “It’s just getting real,” I admitted. Trying to hide my feelings from him always backfired.“This is our last stop on the West Coast.” \nHe kept his eyes on the road ahead, a muscle working in his jaw.“Do you not want to move to Moonstone Bay?” \nI felt bad for him. He was excited to have a house, a place to call home that wasn’t on wheels. Truthfully, I was too. That wasn’t why I was feeling nostalgic. \n“It’s not that. I want a house. I want a garden. But this has been my life for a long time and it’s just hitting me that the routines will soon be gone.” \nHe didn’t judge me—that wasn’t his way.“What will you miss about traveling?” \n“The thing with traveling like we do is that if we get fed up with a location, or end up hating it for some reason, we always know that we’ll be gone in a we","cbCailofvEw2V8iO","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCailofvEw2V8iO","pdf",3566259,247,"English","en",105,"# Contents\n## One\n## Two\n## Three\n## Four\n## Five\n## Six\n## Seven\n## Eight\n## Nine\n## Ten\n## Eleven\n## Twelve\n## Thirteen\n## Fourteen\n## Fifteen\n## Sixteen\n## Seventeen\n## Eighteen\n## Nineteen\n## Twenty\n## Twenty-One\n## Twenty-Two\n## Twenty-Three\n## Twenty-Four\n## Twenty-Five\n## Twenty-Six\n## Twenty-Seven\n## Twenty-Eight\n## Twenty-Nine\n## Mailing List\n## About the Author\n## Books by Amanda M.
