It is quick and easy to play, and is very straightforward to set up. \nAge range: 5th Grade + Learning: \n- Fractions, decimals and percent conversion \n- Vocabulary: \no Equivalent and improper fractions \nYou will need \n- Each player will need 8 counters of his/her own color. \n- 2 dice \n- A calculator \nInstructions \n- Each player takes turns to roll the 2 dice. The player then decides which dice roll will bethe numerator of their fraction, and which will be the denominator. The player then chooses one classification hexagon on the board which matches the fraction they have rolled. They cover up this hexagon with a counter. \n- This is then checked by another player, using a calculator if necessary. \n- If the player who placed the counter was wrong, then the counter is taken back. \n- If a person cannot find any property hexagon which matches their number, they pass the dice on to the next player. \n- The game finishes when all the hexagons are covered up. \n- The winner of the game is the person who manages to cover up most hexagons. \nVariations \n- Alternative winning strategy: \no The winner of the game is the first person to get 3 counters in a row (vertical or diagonal) . \nExample of Play \n- Sally rolls a 3 and a 6. She chooses to make the fraction 6. She covers up the ‘Equivalent to a half’ hexagon. This is correct, so her counter stays. \n- Frazer rolls a 2 and a 5. He makes the improper fraction 2. He decides to cover up the >2 hexagon. He is correct as his fraction is equal to 2.5, so his counter stays. \nWho will cover up the most hexagons? \nBetween> 50% \n1.2 and 2.5 \nEquivalent to a half \n> 100% \nProper fraction \n\u003C ½ \nBetween 0.3 and 0.7 \nLess than 0.8 \n≤ 100%> 2 \nImproper fraction \n≥ 200%","cbCaiprSuIIodQ99","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiprSuIIodQ99","pdf",229585,"English","# Game Overview\n# Age Range and Learning Focus\n# What You Need\n# Instructions\n## Turn and Checking Rules\n# Scoring and Winning\n# Variations\n# Example of Play\n# Classification Hexagon Prompts","[{\"question\":\"What skills does Fraction Classify It teach?\",\"answer\":\"It teaches conversion between fractions, decimals, and percentages, plus fraction vocabulary such as equivalent fractions and improper fractions.\"},{\"question\":\"How does a player make a move during the game?\",\"answer\":\"Players roll two dice, choose which value is the numerator and denominator, then cover the board’s classification hexagon that matches the fraction.\"},{\"question\":\"What happens if a player selects the wrong hexagon?\",\"answer\":\"Another player checks the choice, using a calculator if necessary.
