The Signal by Vsevolod Mikhailovich Garshin \nAbout the Author: \nVsevolod Mikhailovich Garshin (1855-1888) was a Russian short story writer. He was known to have popularized the genre in Russia in the late 19th century. Even though he came from a very wealthy family, he signed to serve in the army. He wrote about the tragic conditions of the soldiers in his first story Four Days (1877). His most famous story is the \nRed Flower (1883) . Haunted by his experience in the war, he ultimately took his own life. \nAbout the text: \nThe story is about Semyon Ivanov, a railway track walker. Nine years back, he served in the war as a servant to the officers where he served hot drinks and meals. After the war, he met a fellow officer from the war and got the track walker job. He felt lucky to be in a stable job but he was bored. He tried to interact with the other track walkers and tried to make friends with one of them, Vasily. He finds that Vasily can be hot tempered and tries to convince him of the world as not so bad. \nGlossary: \nversts: a Russian measure of length, about 1.1 km \nravine: a deep, narrow gorge with steep sides \nsamovar: a heated metal container traditionally used to heat and boil water in Russia \ndessiatin: an archaic land measurement used in Tzarist Russia, approximately equivalent to 2.702 English acres or 10,926.512 square meters \nballast: gravel, broken stone, slag, etc., placed between and under the tries of a railroad to give stability, provide drainage, and distribute loads \ndirection : દદળા \ncotton : ક઩ાવ \nchimney : ચીભની \nhealth : આય૊ગ્મ \nshattered : વલખયારા \nassistant : વશામક \nroasted : રા \nfrozen : સ્થથય , થીજેલું \nhunger : ભૂખ \nheat : ગયભી \nbullets : ગ૊઱ીઓ \nwhizzed : ઝડ઩થી ઩વાય થવું \nstruck : ત્રાટક્ું \nskirmishing : અથડાભણ \nravine : ક૊તય \nseparating : અરગ \nhostile : પ્રવત઱ \nsteaming : ફાપ વું \nhummed : ગું જા યુ \nrattled : શડર૊ \nviciously : દષ્ટતાથી \nterrified : બમબીત \ncampaign : ઝુંળ \nunbroken : અડ \ncrippled : અગ \naching : ઩ીડા \nmortgage : ગીય૊ \npayments : ચૂકલણી \nurgent : તાત્કાલરક \nbravery : ફશાદયી \ntriumph : વલજમ \nhappened : થયું \nfamiliar : ઩દયલચત \nrecognized : ભાન્મ \nmagazine : વાભવમક \nfavourite : વપ્રમ \nidiot : મૂખુ \nproceeds : આગ઱ લ \nbenefit : રાબ \ninternational : આંતયયાષ્ટ્ષ્િમ \nyouth : યલાની \npolitical : યાજકીમ \nsoldier : વનક \nhuman : ભાનલ \nresources : ળાધન૊ \ngrateful : આબાયી \nrejoiced : આદ થમ૊ \nbegan : ળર ક યું \nnecessary : જરયી \nsafety : વરાભતી \nhammer : શથ૊ડી \nnails : ખીરીઓ \nregulations : વનમભ૊ \ntrembling : ધ્રૂજાયી \nrum","cbCaisfAp1eVkj1M","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaisfAp1eVkj1M","pdf",4278058,201,"English","# Detailed syllabus\n## Text\n## Grammar\n# Semester end examination\n## Short Questions\n## Long Questions\n## Objective type questions\n## Information transfer from visual to verbal\n# Internal Marks\n## Assignments\n## Unit Test\n## MCQ Test\n## Regular Attendance\n# 6.
