Honestly, where did the time go? When we began Foughtism, we hada simple hope, to create a space where autism could be talked about with honesty, warmth and respect. One year later, that hope has grown into something much bigger. It has become a community of autistic people, parents, siblings, educators, professionals and allies who bring their own stories, questions, wins and wonderfully unexpected moments to the conversation. We have learned that there is no single autistic experience, and that is exactly what makes this community so rich. Some days bring breakthroughs. Other days bring sensory overload, misunderstandings, exhaustion or the need to hide under a blanket and say, “Not today!” All of it is real. Along the way, we have also faced challenges, including the responsibility of making sure what we share is accurate, respectful and genuinely useful. That matters deeply to us. Foughtism is not here to speak over autistic people. We want to listen, learn and make room for autistic voices to lead the conversation. Because lived experience matters, and every story adds another piece to the bigger picture. \nAs we celebrate this first anniversary, we are not simply looking back. We are looking around us and asking, “What comes next?” Our answer is more listening, more self advocacy, more honest conversations and more room for autistic joy. Joy matters too. It can be found in a favorite song played for the hundredth time, a special interest that lights up your whole face, a peaceful afternoon, a friendship that feels easy, or finally finding people who just get it. This month’s theme, Reflect, Reimagine, Rise: An Anniversary of Autistic Joy & Advocacy, is our invitation to celebrate how far we have come while imagining what we can build next. To autistic readers, young and old, speaking or nonspeaking, needing lots of support or a little, you belong here. To families and supporters, thank you for listening and growing with us. And to everyone who has shared a story, sent feedback, challenged an idea or simply turned a page, thank you. Our first year is your story too. Here’s to the next chapter, with more voices, more understanding, more advocacy and plenty of reasons to smile. \n[www.sparklebuds.com](www.sparklebuds.com) \n02 \nYour Anniversary Edition Guide. \nThe Past, Present & Future of Neurodiversity \nSpotlight Featured \nTeen Zone Feature Expert Advice \nInteractive Learning & Activities \nActivity of the month DIY Craft \nAsa's Adventure Puzzle \nParenting Tips & Support \nParenting Advocate’s corner Sibling Section Parent-to-Parent \nUnderstanding & Empowerment \nDeep Dive Neurodiversity Celebration Book Club \nCommunity & Resources \nCommunity Events Resource Directory Tech & Tools Ask the Expert \nFun & Relaxation \nRecipe Corner Jokes & Riddles! \n0304-05 06 \n07 \n08 \n09 \n10 \n11 \n12 \n13 \n14 \n15 \n17-18 19 \n20 \n21 \n22 \n23 \n24 \n26 \n27 \n[www.sparklebuds.com](www.sparklebuds.com) \n03 \nSpotlight \nMeet Our Sparkle Bud of the Month: \nAria \nSay hello to Aria, our eight year old Sparkle Bud of the Month, whose current obsession is everything ocean. Sharks, whales, tiny seahorses, you name it, Aria probably knows something about it. Her favorite creature is the octopus because, as she puts it, “They have eight arms, so they can do eight things at once!” Her room has ocean drawings on the walls, a growing collection of sea animal books and one very well loved stuffed octopus named Blueberry. Aria is autistic, and her family has found that her deep interest in marine life is much more than a favorite topic. It isone of the ways she learns, plays, communicates and connects with people around her. “When Aria talks about the ocean, you can see her whole face change,” says her dad, Marcus.“She gets so excited that sometimes she forgets to breathe between sentences. We just let her go. Honestly, I could listen forever.” He","cbCaidqOQ30VoadE","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaidqOQ30VoadE","pdf",18621596,"English","# One Year Anniversary Story\n## Reflect, Reimagine, Rise: An Anniversary of Autistic Joy & Advocacy\n# Your Anniversary Edition Guide\n## The Past, Present & Future of Neurodiversity\n## Spotlight, Teen Zone, Expert Advice\n## Interactive Learning & Activities\n## Community & Resources\n## Fun & Relaxation\n# Spotlight\n## Meet Our Sparkle Bud of the Month: Aria\n# Featured\n## Then & Now: How the Autism Conversation Has Shifted in Just One Year","[{\"question\":\"What is Foughtism trying to create for the autism conversation?\",\"answer\":\"It aims to create a space where autism can be discussed with honesty, warmth, and respect, with room for autistic voices to lead the conversation.\"},{\"question\":\"What challenges does the community mention during its first year?\",\"answer\":\"It highlights the responsibility to ensure shared content is accurate, respectful, and genuinely useful.\"},{\"question\":\"What is the October 2026 theme and what does it invite readers to do?\",\"answer\":\"The theme is “Reflect, Reimagine, Rise: An Anniversary of Autistic Joy \\u0026 Advocacy.” It invites readers to celebrate how far they’ve come while imagining what can be built next.\"}]","Foughtism Autism Edition - October 2026 - Reflect, Reimagine, Rise: An Anniversary of Autistic Joy & Advocacy | PDF",1791238166,46]
