During the assessment you cannot look at any reference material or notes, so it is vital you spend adequate time to learn the content of the Pre-study Questions.  \nNote: It is unlikely that you will pass the written assessment if you do not study the points highlighted in yellow before you attend. We recommend covering the information several times until you feel confident that you know the information.  \nCompleting the pre-study is mandatory, however we do not require you to print the Learner Guide (that follows the Pre-study questions below) if it can be accessed on a device. If you are not able to print the 14 pages of the Pre-study questions, write the answers on note paper, starting each answer with the question number. IF YOU DO NOT BRING THE COMPLETED QUESTIONS , YOU WILL NOT COMMENCE TRAINING, YOU WILL NEED TO BOOK AND PAY FOR ANOTHER COURSE DATE.  \nThe information below is provided for your convenience and interest, however should you have any questions, please give us a call.  \nWorkSafe’s English Language Requirement  \nWorkSafe requires that assessors must not issue a notice of satisfactory assessment (NOA) unless satisfied that the applicant for the High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) has sufficient knowledge of the English language, both written and oral, to safely do the work relevant to the HRWL applied for.  \nWorkSafe considers that to assist in the ensuring safety at the workplace , applicants for a HRWL must have sufficient knowledge of the English language to communicate orally with other workers and where appropriate be able to read and understand:  \no Safety signs at workplaces.  \no Operator manuals in the case of plant such as, for example, fork-lift trucks, work platforms and cranes.  \no Load charts and/or compliance plates in the case of plant as exampled above.  \no Assembly instructions and drawings associated with rigging and scaffolding work.  \no Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) .  \nIn undertaking the written component of the Assessment Instrument WorkSafe does not permit, under any circumstances, an interpreter to be used and requires that applicants attempt the written examination in their own hand.
