Their entire community, including homes, school, health center, and even gardens, floats on the water. Kongkea's father and brother are skilled fishermen, while she is responsible for tending to their floating garden. Despite her father's initial reluctance, Kongkea longs to join them on fishing expeditions. However, her father insists she stay home to care for the garden, specifically mentioning the papayas she grows, and her brother asks her to look after his tomatoes. During the monsoon season, heavy rains cause the river and lake to flood. One day, after her father and brother depart for fishing, Kongkea discovers her garden has drifted away from their house. Determined to retrieve it, she sets off in her boat. She rows with increasing speed as the garden floats further away, calling out for it to wait. The journey is perilous, with large waves causing her boat to rock violently and water to seep in. Kongkea diligently bails out the water while continuing her pursuit. Despite growing fatigue and the intense heat, the garden continues its relentless drift. Eventually, the garden comes to a stop. Kongkea finally catches up and secures her boat to a stake in the water, preparing to board the garden. However, to her surprise, the garden begins to move away from her boat once more. Puzzled by this turn of events, Kongkea resolves to investigate by diving underwater to discover the cause.","Floating Garden Iem Tithseiha \nIem Tithseiha \nKongkea is 12 years old and lives with her father and brother on the Tonle Sap river.
