These games can be used for either sight word flashcards or letter flashcards. \n􀁸 Use them like regular flashcards. \n􀁸 Play memory with the cards. Choose about six pairs of cards. For example,“the” and “The” or “b” and “B” would be pairs. Mix them up and place them facedown. Take turns turning two cards over and reading them. If they are a matching pair, then the player keeps them. If not, then they are turned over again. The player with the most pairs wins! \n􀁸 Play Go Fish with them. Shuffle the deck and pass out five cards to each player and put the rest in a pile. Take turns asking a player for a card that you have in your hand. If the player has the card, then they give it to the player who asked for it. If they don’t have the card, then they say “go fish”and the other player takes one card form the pile. When a player gets a match (like “have” and “Have” or “t” and “T”), then they set it aside. The game ends when all the cards in the pile are gone. The player with the most matches wins! \n􀁸 Randomly choose a card. Look for that letter or sight word in a book you read together. \n􀁸 Place some flashcards face up on a table. Call out a letter or sight word and have your child slap the card with their hand or a fly swatter.
