These sidekicks are introduced as the characters meet them during the adventure. The sidekicks are:  \n• Garret Goodbarrel, a cleric able to heal wounds.  \n• Gundren Rockseeker, a dwarf experienced in dungeon navigation.  \n• Meelk the Goblin, an agile and wild humanoid.  \n• Sildar Hallwinter, an expert warrior.  \n• Wolf, a ferocious but trainable predator.  \nThe DM decides when the party meets these characters and if they can qualify as sidekicks. The DM and the players decide who is in charge of controlling these sidekicks.  \nSidekick Stat Blocks  \nEach sidekick is presented with a box containing their game statistics. The initial stat block presents a 1st level sidekick, suitable to accompany a 1st level party. Each sidekick receives experience points in the same way asthe characters. When sidekicks level up, they gain hit points and extra abilities, as indicated in the tables following their statistics. If the average level of the party is higher than 1, the Dungeon Master can introduce the sidekick at a level higher than 1. For example, when characters meet Gundren they should be 3rd level. In this case, the DM could introduce Gundren as a level 3 sidekick.  \nRoleplaying Sidekicks  \nAlthough sidekicks can be a fun addition to the game, the spotlight should always be on the characters, who are responsible for making every decision.  \nEven if a sidekick is controlled by a player, the Dungeon Master can always intervene and take  \ncontrol of the sidekick. This can be done to give advice, make conversation, or create conflict. A description of the sidekick and their character traits (except for the wolf) is provided below their statistics.
