Don’t go near the Anderson farm, either. And you sure asshit better stay away from the road.”  \n“Bill, language!” Danny’s mother hollered from the kitchen.  \n“Sorry, hon,” his father said.“Dano, I mean it. Y’all start shooting off fireworks near the road, near someone while they’re driving, Sheriff Carter will be skidding to a halt out front in no time flat. That crotchety old bastard would love a good reason to write your old man ticket.”  \n“Alright, Dad, I won’t,” Danny said, peering into the bag in his hands, trying to see what all was in there.  \n“And take your brother with you.”  \n“Aw, come on,” Danny said, looking up at his father, curling his lip like the thought of bringing Seth was tantamount to drinking a glass of rotten buttermilk.  \n“Those fireworks are for the two of you, Danny. Take him.”  \n“Okay,” Danny groaned, turning and heading back upstairs to his room.  \nMatt and Charlie had stayed over the night before, and as Danny expected they were still playing Diablo 3 on the PlayStation. Charlie, frequently called Chunky Charlie, lived up to that nickname, weighing in at  \na good 180 pounds, despite, like Danny and Matt, being only thirteen. He was sitting on the edge of Danny’s bed with one hand on the controller and the other in a bag of Cheetos. As a result, he wasn’t fairing too well in the video game.  \n“Charlie, you fat fuck, do something before you get me killed,” Matt said, shirtless and seated cross-legged in the floor, working the controller like a madman.“Christ, it’s like I’m playing alone!” With his blue eyes and blond hair looking equally insane, he looked over his shoulder at Charlie.“You’re eating while we’re playing?!
