We are so tiny that you cannot see us.  \nWe have many, many, many twin brothers and sisters. All of us white blood cells protect your health!  \nHave you heard about the new virus that started making people sick in December 2019? That virus enters a person’s nose or mouth. Then it goes to their lungs. It causes a dry cough and a fever.  \nThere are many different viruses. Some viruses don’t hurt you at all. Other viruses make a lot of liquid come out of your nose. Still other viruses make you cough, have a fever and ache all over.  \nThere are also many different bacteria. Some cause you to have diarrhea. Some can make it hard for sores on your body to heal. Some can make you cough and have a fever.  \nDo you remember who helps you fight against viruses?  \nYes, it is your white blood cells!  \nHow do you think that bacteria and viruses get into your body? Look at your hands! Do you see any bacteria or viruses on them? Viruses and bacteria are very tiny. They are tinier than us white blood cells that fight them!  \nYour hand can have more than a million virus and bacteria living on it! If you rub your nose, some viruses go into your nose. If you touch your lips, some viruses go into your mouth. Then they make many, many, many copies of themselves. And they try to make you sick. Do you remember who can help you stay healthy?  \nYes, its all of us white blood cells! As soon as I see a virus, I tell all the other white blood cells. We all get ready to fight. Each white blood cell can destroy many viruses.
