System(MILES)from Xerox Electro Optical Systems,requires Army personnel engagingin the exercises to wear bulky equipment and is limited in its ability to determine exact-1y who fired what type of weapon and how accurately it was fired.  \nSimulaser is breadboarding a system using microprocessors,low-power CMOS(complemen-tary metal oxide semiconductor)hybrid circuitry and GaAs semiconductor lasers with peakpower output of less than 1 watt and 70-nanosecond pulse width to reduce the weight andenable the recording of more variables in training exercises.The system is due to bepublicly
