It is not intended as an engineering textbook. The methods we use have evolved over the course of twenty five years and continue to do so as our knowledge and experience grows. \nThe intended users of this manual are practicing engineers. We assume that the reader is already familiar with the basic principles of structural design of concrete systems. We encourage others to contract a qualified engineer for assistance with the design of similar structures. The example problems in this manual pertain only to the design and construction of the AB Fence® System. \nAB® Post Block \nThe AB Fence Post block is the primary structural component of the system. Integrated into reinforced concrete piles, the AB Fence post forms the backbone of the AB Fence system. \nAB® Corner Unit \nThe AB Fence Corners are manufactured for 90° transitions. \nAB® Panel Block \nThe AB Fence Panel block is stacked between the rigid post structures. The interlocking design of the panel block creates a strong, solid barrier that easily transfers wind and seismic loads to the post structures while remaining flexible enough in the drystacked units to absorb wind loads. \nAB® Fence Cap \nThe AB Fence Cap is used to finish the top of the post and panels. The crowned configuration provides aesthetic appeal, and channels water away from the posts and panel. \nAB® Half Panel and \nAB® Lite Panel Blocks \nThe AB Fence Half Panel blocks are manufactured to eliminate the need for in-the field producing of half size panel block by cutting standard panel blocks.
