It will be open during school hours the 18th-24th of October AND during  \nTrunk or Treat!  \nFriends of the Poor Walk  \nThe St. Vincent de Paul Society’s (SVDP) 17th Annual Friends of the Poor Walk will be held October 12, 2024. The goal of the Walk is to raise money to assist our neighbors with basic needs including rent, utilities, medicine and food. Starting at Father Andrew White School, the walk route goes through the streets of Historic Leonardtown. There will be a post-walk brunch, music, theme baskets for a silent auction, balloons for children, and door prizes. Registration begins at 7:30 am, Walk begins at 9:00 am.  \nThere is no registration fee, but walkers are encouraged to collect pledges or donate. The Walk is sponsored by the SVDP Conferences at St. Aloysius and Immaculate Conception Churches. This can be caused by many things, including viruses, bacteria, stress, chronic illness, overeating, and eating something that just didn’t agree with you. The highly contagious “stomach bug” is actually viral gastroenteritis caused by several types of viruses. The symptoms are similar to those from food poisoning, but the latter is caused by eating contaminated food and does not spread from person to person. Whatever the cause, it is vital to ensure adequate rest, nutrition, and hydration.
