campaignerseoneerning the“agrieultural West”and the\"industrial East\".  \nEfforts are being made to industrially dividethe West and the East,which,if successful,would be as disastrous to the Nation—only in adifferent way—as the eruel war between thestates 65 years ago,which temporarily dividedthe North and the South.  \nThe invitation extended to me is to partici-pate in a diseussion of the subject—  \n## \"Is the American Farmer Getting a SquareDeal?”\n\nMy answer is emphatieally“No!”  \nIn your invitation you said that otherspeakers on this ocasion would advoeate theMeNary-Haugen bill and I would be expected toexploit the Curtis-Aswell bill.In this the Hart-ford Get Together Club shows its proper ap-preciation of the issue.  \nGoVERNMENT CoNTROL OR FABMEB CoNTROL.  \nIn point of fact,the whole battle front restson these two issuesThe MeNary-Haugen billadvocates“government control”and the Cur-tis-Aswell bill advoeates\"farmer control\"inthe distribution and marketing of
