Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?– ISAIAH 43:19 \n[OceanofPDF.com](OceanofPDF.com) \nINTRODUCTION \nI \nf you’re holding this book, there’s a good chance you’ve lived through something that changed you. Not in a small way, but in the kind of way that forces you to pause, re-evaluate and ask yourself who you are now. \nI’m still learning. I don’t claim to have all the answers, and I don’t believe strength looks the same on everyone. What I do know is this: life will ask things of us we never planned for, and somehow we are still required to keep going. We show up for our children, our work, our faith and our responsibilities, often while quietly carrying more than anyone can see. \nFor a long time, I believed resilience meant pushing through without being affected. I’ve learned instead that resilience is about staying present, choosing honesty and rebuilding piece by piece when life doesn’t unfold the way you imagined it would. It’s about refusing to let painful experiences define you, even while allowing them to shape you. \nParts of my story have been public. Other parts have been deeply private. In these pages, I share my experiences not to relive them, and not to centre pain, but to show what it looks like to move forward with intention, faith and courage. This isnot a story about what broke me. It’s a story about what helped me to stand again. \nThis book is for women and all those people who have felt the quiet weight of shame, disappointment or loss. For those who have been impacted by circum– stances or decisions they didn’t choose, and who wondered whether they would ever feel steady again. It’s for those who have kept going even when the path ahead felt uncertain. \nHealing, I have learned, is not loud or linear. It happens in the daily choices we make to care for ourselves, to stay rooted in what matters and to create consistency when everything feels unsteady. For me, that has meant tending to my faith, my body, my mind and my rest – not perfectly, but intentionally. These practices didn’t remove the pain, but they helped me to remain myself through it. \nI’m still healing. I always will be. But I’m no longer afraid of the process. I’ve learned that there is no shame in needing support, no weakness in acknowledging hurt and no failure in starting again. There is strength in renewal, and dignity in choosing to rise, again and again. \nMy hope is that as you read these pages, you feel less alone. That you find \nlanguage for what you’ve carried, and permission to move forward in your own way. Not rushed. Not pressured. Just steady, honest and rooted. \nThis is a book about resilience – the kind that isn’t loud, but lasts. \nRachel \nCape Town, February 2026 \n[OceanofPDF","cbCail51YK6lhTPz","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCail51YK6lhTPz","pdf",1035229,147,"English","# Part 1 Falling\n## Chapter 1 Let It Rain\n## Chapter 2 Falling but Always Forward\n## Chapter 3 Redefining Love\n## Chapter 4 Every Relationship Has Its Seasons\n## Chapter 5 Good Mothers Are Built, Not Born\n# Part 2 Rising\n## Chapter 6 The Same Rachel with Different Priorities\n## Chapter 7 Healing Out Loud\n## Chapter 8 Speaking Survival\n## Chapter 9 Faithful and True\n## Chapter 10 Putting in the Work\n## Chapter 11 Building Boundaries\n## Chapter 12 A Lifetime of Miracles\n## Chapter 13 I Have a Purpose\n## Chapter 14 There Are No Grief Olympics\n# Part 3 Becoming\n## Chapter 15 I am Not a Destination\n## Chapter 16 Showing Up Authentically in a Filtered World\n## Chapter 17 Moving the Goalposts\n## Chapter 18 Endings Aren’t an Event\n## Chapter 19 Seeking a Cure for Mom-Guilt\n## Chapter 20 Finding My Voice","[{\"question\":\"What does the book mean by “resilience”?\",\"answer\":\"Resilience is staying present, choosing honesty, and rebuilding piece by piece when life doesn’t go as planned.
