This booklet sets out to helpfully explain the exam process, letting you know when exams take place throughout the school year, and the relevant results day, so everyone is clear on what to expect.  \nThis booklet also includes crucial information concerning rules and regulations for candidates and how parents and guardians can ensure their child is best equipped for exam days.  \nPlease read this booklet carefully in order that you are fully aware of the procedures. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.  \nYours sincerely Mr Whitby Exams Officer  \nTimetables and Scheduling of External Exams  \nIndividual Timetables will be sent out approximately a month before the exams. Please check your timetable carefully. If you have any queries, please report to the exams office immediately.  \nGCSE exams will run between in November 2025 and from May 2026-July 2026 A-Level exams will run between from May 2026-July 2026  \nBTEC exams run in January , May and June 2026  \nThe dates of external exams can never be changed and should the dates of exams clash with INSET dates, other school events or work experience, the exam always takes precedence. Please note all external exams will go ahead in extreme weather like snow or adverse circumstances unless you hear otherwise from the school and national agencies.  \nJCQ-Information for Candidates documents  \nThese have been emailed along with the booklet and are available on the school’s website and must always be read and adhered to.  \nUniform  \nFull uniform must be worn for all exams without exception.  \nEquipment  \nThe centre will provide the necessary equipment for all students sitting exams, other than scientific calculators for A-Level exams which will need to be provided by students.  \nPunctuality and Attendance for Exams  \nPlease arrive on time for all exams. If you arrive significantly late you may not be allowed into the exam hall, or your work may not be accepted by the exam board.  \nSpecial Consideration  \nIn the unlikely event a candidate is unable to attend an exam because of significant illness, suffer bereavement or other trauma, or otherwise be disadvantaged or disturbed during an exam, then it is the candidate's/parent’s responsibility to alert the centre's Exams Officer to that effect immediately without delay.  \nAccess Arrangements  \nIf you have any queries regarding access arrangements or potential access arrangements, please contact the SENCo.  \nFood and Drink/bags  \nStudents are not permitted to bring food or drink into the exam hall, except for a bottle of water in a clear bottle with the label removed.  \nA locked cloakroom is provided for all other belongings.  \nBehaviour Conduct during Exams  \nPlease carefully read ‘Information for Candidates-written examinations’ which were emailed to you with this booklet and are available on our school website Exams Information-Blessed Hugh Faringdon Catholic School .
