The Board of Directors ofIFC discussed the President’s Memorandum and a Report on an investment for the Africa Medical Equipment Facility including specific investments for participating financial institutions, NSIA Banque Cote d’Ivoire and Co-operative Bank of Kenya. The investment in NSIA Banque Cote d’Ivoire comprises a risk-sharing facility (RSF) on a portfolio of loans and leases to healthcare small and medium enterprises of up to EUR20 million equivalent in CFA francs (XOF) of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) zone originated and serviced by NSIA in Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal. IFC will take a maximum exposure of up to the local currency equivalent of EUR10 million. The investment for the Co-operative Bank of Kenya comprises a risk-sharing facility RSF on a portfolio of loans and leases to healthcare small and medium enterprises of up to US$20 million equivalent in Kenyan shillings (KES) originated and serviced by Co-op Bank in Kenya. IFC will take a maximum exposure of up to the local currency equivalent of US$10 million. The first phase of the African Medical Equipment Facility involves a 30 percent pooled first-loss guarantee to be provided by the IDA-19 PSW BFF for up to US$18 million (for the NSIA Banque Cote d’Ivoire project) and the Global Financing Facility for up to US$6 million (for the Co-operative Bank of Kenya project) in eligible countries. The Board of Directors approved the investment (IFC/R2020- 0226, dated November 6, 2020) and adopted Resolution No. IFC2020-0016.  \nThe Executive Directors of IDA discussed and approved an allocation from the IDA19 IFCMIGA PSW BFF of up to US$18 million to support IFC investments in the PSW African Medical Equipment Facility Program in Sub-Saharan Africa and the inclusion of an RSF with NSIA Banque Côte d’Ivoire on the terms and conditions set out in the President’s Memorandum (IDA/R2020-0371, dated November 6, 2020) .  \nAdjournment  \n3.
