licensure:certification (PSI)to conduct its examination program.  \n# OBJECTIVE OF THE BOARD OF BARBERING\n\nAND COSMETOLOGY  \nThe Board of Barbering and Cosmetology’s (BBC)responsibilities are protecting and educating consumers whoseek barbering, cosmetology, and electrology services. BBCalso regulates the individuals who provide the services andthe salons in which the services are performed. Through itsexamination programs, the BBC ensures that applicants forlicensure have completed the necessary training and passed awritten and practical examination. The examination requiresthat the individual demonstrate that they possess theknowledge and skills required to protect the public’s healthand safety. After successfully passing the examination,individuals are issued the applicable license by the BBC.  \n# ELIGIBILITY\n\nOnce the BBC has sent PSI your examination eligibility, youwill receive this Candidate Information Bulletin with aSchedule Notice printed on the back cover. This ScheduleNotice is not valid unless there is a label with your name andaddressed affixed to it.  \nThe BBC considers an application abandoned if the candidatefails to take the examination within one year from the datethe applicant qualified to be scheduled to take theexamination.
