If you are unsure about any of the points below, see sections 4 and 5 of the Cambridge Handbook. \nBefore the exam starts \nComplete the tasks below to make sure that: \n• the exam room is set up properly \n• your invigilators are fully briefed \n• you have the additional materials the candidates need \n□ I have timetabled the exam correctly and all candidates will be in the exam or under Full Centre Supervision at the Key Time. \n□ I have checked that the conditions in the exam room are suitable (heat, light, noise, cleanliness) . \n□ I have displayed the Notice to Candidates and Candidate Warning posters , inside and outside the exam room. I am confident that the posters can be seen by all candidates in the exam room. \n□ I have covered display materials which may be helpful to candidates e.g. periodic tables and maps. \n□ I have placed the desks in the correct position. I am using the exam room space to \nits full potential and have spaced candidates as far apart as possible. There is a minimum distance requirement of 1.25 metres between the centre of one \ncandidate’s chair to the centre of another’s, when the chairs are pulled out as \nthough a candidate were sitting at the desk. \n□ I have checked that the type of desk in the exam room is suitable. For example, there is enough space on the desk for everything the candidate needs and any desk shelves have been checked for unauthorised materials. \n□ I have put candidate numbers on the desks. \n□ Candidates can see a clock from their desk, and it is displaying the correct time. If there is more than one clock in the exam room, I have made sure they all show the same time. \n□ I have printed sections 4 and 5 (abridged) of the Cambridge Handbook and the Cambridge Handbook Key Times and Full Centre Supervision documents and have put them in all exam rooms. \n□ I have the right number of invigilators for the number of candidates sitting the exam and they can call for assistance if needed without disturbing candidates. \n□ I have trained all the invigilators and I am confident that they understand what they need todo. \n□ I have the correct question paper packet(s) and other materials for the exam. \n□ I will securely store question paper packets and other confidential materials. I will not leave packets unattended at any time between removing them from secure storage and starting the exam. \n□ I have the script packet envelopes ready to pack the scripts into at the end of the \nexam, and the relevant bar-coded labels. \n□ I know which materials (dictionaries, set texts, calculators) are allowed in the exam. Check the Additional Materials List on our website if you are unsure about which materials are allowed in each exam. \n□ I have a copy of the What to Say to Candidates in an Exam document ready to read aloud to the candidates in English. \n□ If I am using multiple exam rooms, I have set up each exam room with the same requirements as above. \n□ I have allocated washrooms that can be used by candidates during the exam and have checked each cubicle for unauthorised materials. \n□ I have my seating plan template/s for each exam room ready to fill out once the exam has started. \nBefore the candidates enter the room \n• Verify the identity of all your candidates and make sure that they do not bring unauthorised materials into the exam room: \n□ I am sure of the identity of each candidate. \n□ All candidates have handed in unauthorised materials and I have stored these outside the exam room. \n• Once you have checked the above, ask the candidates to enter the exam room in silence and sit at their desks. \nOnce the candidates are seated \n□ Another member of staff and I have checked that we have the correct blue question paper packet before opening it. \n□ We have checked that the informat","cbCaihTZaLd4Cr7d","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaihTZaLd4Cr7d","pdf",212281,"English","# Before the exam starts\n## Before candidates enter the room\n## Once the candidates are seated\n# During the exam","[{\"question\":\"What should exams officers complete before the exam starts?\",\"answer\":\"Confirm the exam room setup, brief invigilators, ensure candidates have required materials, display notices, arrange desks and candidate spacing, and verify room suitability (heat, light, noise, cleanliness).
