Whole-exome sequencing was used to test whether ethnic differences between Han and Kazakh populations drive molecular variations in 299 ESCC patients. Sequencing revealed later onset in Kazakh patients, slightly higher tumor mutation burden, and threefold higher mutation frequencies of GIGYF1, CACNA1D, and ACOT11 in Kazakhs. APOBEC-related signatures and SBS6 patterns further differentiated cohorts, linking genomics to survival and informing potential clinical treatment guidance.",{"@graph":69,"@context":122},[70,84,105],{"@type":71,"itemListElement":72},"BreadcrumbList",[73,77,79,82],{"item":74,"name":75,"@type":76,"position":8},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",{"item":78,"name":9,"@type":76,"position":14},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/",{"item":80,"name":35,"@type":76,"position":81},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/healthcare/",3,{"item":83,"name":65,"@type":76,"position":19},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/ethnic-genomic-differences-in-esophageal-squamous-cell-carcinoma-whole-exome-sequencing-of-han-and-kazakh-populations-in-china/406348/",{"url":83,"name":65,"@type":85,"image":86,"author":91,"headline":65,"publisher":94,"fileFormat":97,"inLanguage":63,"description":67,"dateModified":98,"datePublished":99,"encodingFormat":97,"isAccessibleForFree":100,"interactionStatistic":101},"DigitalDocument",{"url":87,"@type":88,"width":89,"height":90},"https://docshare.wps.com/thumbnails/ethnic-genomic-differences-in-esophageal-squamous-cell-carcinoma-whole-exome-sequencing-of-han-and-kazakh-populations-in-china/406348.png","ImageObject",300,407,{"name":92,"@type":93},"Putri","Person",{"url":74,"name":95,"@type":96},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-10-31","2026-09-28",true,{"@type":102,"interactionType":103,"userInteractionCount":39},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":104},"ViewAction",{"@type":106,"mainEntity":107},"FAQPage",[108,114,118],{"name":109,"@type":110,"acceptedAnswer":111},"What is the study objective regarding Han and Kazakh populations?","Question",{"text":112,"@type":113},"To determine whether ethnic differences (Han vs Kazakh) cause molecular variations in ESCC patients through genomic sequencing of 299 samples.","Answer",{"name":115,"@type":110,"acceptedAnswer":116},"What genomic differences were observed between Kazakh and Han ESCC patients?",{"text":117,"@type":113},"Kazakh patients showed a later age of onset, a slightly higher tumor mutation burden, and about threefold higher mutation frequencies for GIGYF1, CACNA1D, and ACOT11 compared with Han patients.",{"name":119,"@type":110,"acceptedAnswer":120},"How do APOBEC-associated signatures relate to mutation burden and survival?",{"text":121,"@type":113},"Among Han patients, APOBEC-enriched tumors had a significantly higher mutation load.
