As we draw to the end of another term, I think all students and staff are ready for a rest. As a reminder, we will be closing early to students on Friday 4th April and students will leave at 12. 25pm; buses have been ordered. Anyone in receipt of free school meals should pick them up at breaktime. Vouchers for the holiday should appear in your email inbox before Monday 7th and Monday 14th April. \nStaff changes \nMrs K Freeman has been promoted to the role of Lead Practitioner for whole school Literacy and Mrs C Evans and Mrs T King have changed their role from English TA and LSA respectively to join the Literacy Team as HLTA phonicsand reading intervention leads. This will double our Literacy team from Easter, and I hope that we will be able to meet the needs of more students who struggle with reading and literacy moving forwards. Miss A Anderson has been promoted as our interim Head of PE which will include to Outdoor Education in the Autumn Term. \nWe welcome back Mrs S Dawson following her maternity leave, on the 4th April and a few of our staff are moving on to pastures new; I am sure you will want to join me in wishing them every success with their next venture: \n• Mrs S Ward from the admin team, who has been with us since March 2013 \n• Mr T Dennis from the Humanities team, who has been with us since January 2021 \n• Mrs T Bruce from the English team, who has been with us since September 2022 \nWe wish you well; thank you for your amazing service to the school. \nYear 11 \nYear 11 have just completed their second set of preparation examinations and are now well on the way to the start of their GCSE examinations, which begin on Tuesday 6th May. A letter detailing all the information regarding examinations will be with you shortly. Revision classes are taking place over the Easter holiday so please do encourage your child to attend and encourage them to complete revision at home every single day. Work and study they do now will positively impact on and improve their final results. There are only 2 school weeks before exams start, following the Easter holiday. \nPlease make a note of some important dates for your diary: \n• Year 11 Parents Subject Evening on Thursday 3rd April. \n• Easter revision programme available on 8th, 9th, 10th, 15th and 17th April inclusive. \n• GCSE examinations window from Tuesday 6th May to Tuesday 17th June inclusive. Please remember some of the vocational and practical subjects will have exams outside of this window and they will begin when we return to school. It is essential that you do not book a holiday during this period. \n• Last day for Year 11 to attend school is Wednesday 11th June – students MUST attend all examinations following this date. \n• The traditional shirt signing, and Year 11 Leavers Assembly will take place on Wednesday 18th June from \n11. 15am. \n• Year 11 Prom is on Friday 27th June – a letter with further details will be forwarded next term. \n• Both the leavers shirt signing event and the Prom are held for invited students; those who have behaved well, had strong attendance and taken all their exams. \n• GCSE results day is on Thursday 21st August; we look forward to seeing all of our students from 9.00am on that day. \nMid-year exams \nAll students conducted themselves brilliantly during our mid-year exam season. They took their responsibilities very seriously and I sincerely hope that all of your children performed at the best level they can and tried their very best. All of our students have had assemblies during the final week of term where they will have the excitement of opening their envelope of results with their peers. Reports will go out to all parents during this week, to coincide with when students receive their results. These progress reviews will also include your child’s new stream, which will be effective from 23rd April. \nYea","cbCaicIGau0lNaRG","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaicIGau0lNaRG","pdf",182037,"English","# Year 11\n## Key examination dates and revision support\n# Staff changes\n# Mid-year exams\n# Year 9 Options\n# Uniform\n# Behaviour","[{\"question\":\"When does the school close early for Easter 2025, and what time will students leave?\",\"answer\":\"The school will close early to students on Friday 4 April, with students leaving at 12.25pm.
