As a member of the RF family, you are part of an organization and larger SUNY research community whose mission is to advance institutional excellence and drive cutting-edge research, innovation, economic development, and upward mobility across New York State and beyond. \nAs the RF is a separate non-profit education corporation and is not part of the State of New York system, it has its own policies and procedures and manages its own independent employee benefits programs, compensation plans, affirmative action policies, and other matters that affect you as an employee. \nAt the same time, and consistent with our mission and service to SUNY, the RF is committed to transparency, accountability, integrity, and exemplary ethics. To that end, the RF may provide information about its finances, business decisions, relationships, employees, and other aspects of the RF’s operations. Disclosures about employees may include, but are not limited to, employee title, business address, years of service and salary information. Those disclosures are managed by the RF’s Records Access Officer. Our Code of Conduct demonstrates our adherence to the highest ethical standards. \nThe RF website provides a vast range of resources that serve our SUNY faculty and campus customers and report about our business to our many audiences and stakeholders. \nYour Employee Handbook is one such resource that should be reviewed and relied upon regularly in the performance of your work. \nSUNY oversees nearly a quarter of academic research in New York. In my dual role as RF President and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost for SUNY, I am honored to have the opportunity to work with you and SUNY leaders, faculty, and staff to grow SUNY’s research portfolio and together make SUNY the best place for faculty, students, and staff to research, innovate, and solve the world’s most pressing problems. \nSincerely, \nMelur K. \"Ram\" Ramasubramanian \nTable of Contents \nAbout this Handbook.....................................................................................................................6 \nVision, Mission, Values ..................................................................................................................8 \nDiversity and Inclusion................................................................................................................. 8 \nWhat is the Research Foundation? ............................................................................................ 9 \nHuman Resources Overview .........................................................................................................9 \nWorking at the Research Foundation ..........................................................................................9 \nIntroduction to Your Job ..............................................................................................................9 \nConditions of Employment-Employment-at-Will.................................................................... 10 \nCode of Conduct ........................................................................................................................ 10 \nEmployment Eligibility .............................................................................................................. 11 \nNew Employee Orientation ........................................................................................................ 11 \nStandard Workweek/Time and Attendance ................................................................................ 11 \nTime Reporting .......................................................................................................................... 11 \nTravel ......................................................................................................................................... 12 \nBr","cbCaijdqbNExK5bl","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaijdqbNExK5bl","pdf",877372,37,"English","# About this Handbook\n# Vision, Mission, Values\n# Diversity and Inclusion\n# What is the Research Foundation?\n# Human Resources Overview\n# Working at the Research Foundation\n# Introduction to Your Job\n# Conditions of Employment-Employment-at-Will\n# Code of Conduct\n# Employment Eligibility\n# New Employee Orientation\n# Standard Workweek/Time and Attendance\n# Time Reporting\n# Travel\n# Breaks and Meal Periods\n# Lactation Breaks and Accommodation\n# Personnel File\n# Disclosure of Employee Information under Freedom of Information Law\n# References and Employment Verifications\n# Workplace Issues\n# Equal Employment Opportunity & Antidiscrimination Policy\n# Reproductive Health Decision Making\n# Reasonable Accommodations\n# Preventing Harassment in the Workplace\n# Resolving Allegations of Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation Complaints\n# Prohibition against Retaliation\n# Progressive Discipline Policy\n# Drug-Free Workplace Policy\n# Conflict of Interests, Nepotism, and Gifts\n# Intellectual Property Policy","[{\"question\":\"What is the SUNY Research Foundation’s mission as described in the handbook?\",\"answer\":\"The handbook states the mission is to advance institutional excellence and drive cutting-edge research, innovation, economic development, and upward mobility across New York State and beyond.\"},{\"question\":\"How does the handbook describe the RF’s relationship to the State of New York?\",\"answer\":\"The RF is described as a separate non-profit education corporation, not part of the State of New York system, with its own policies, procedures, and employee benefits and compensation programs.\"},{\"question\":\"Who manages disclosures of employee information mentioned in the handbook?\",\"answer\":\"Employee disclosures are managed by the RF’s Records Access Officer, and may include information such as employee title, business address, years of service, and salary information.\"}]","Employee Handbook - January 2026 | PDF",93]
